Remember, that sketch came from the Ramsey's psychic. Is it possible that the Ramseys, or a grandparent fed this guy the facts of the case, and sort of 'encouraged' his confession, so the heat could be taken off of the Ramseys? Perhaps they found this guy obsessed with the case and planned to pin it on him and had the drawing made from his photo. Note: this is wildly speculative conjecture.

FWIW, I did some reading on CrimeLibrary.com, and found that the no-footprints thing and the forced-entry thing were both
inaccurate early leaks. (Page down until you see the basement photo - it's the paragraph above and below the picture.)

This "journalism professor" was on the news last night and seemed to be enjoying the attention a lot. I wanted to take a stick to him to wipe that smirk off his face.
The authorities need to give old Prof. Tracey a good going over. I bet there's some shady goings on in his background.
