BANGKOK, Thailand - The American suspect in the killing of JonBenet Ramsey told investigators that he drugged and had sex with the 6-year-old beauty queen before accidentally killing her, a senior Thai police officer said Thursday.
An autopsy on Ramsey said a blood screening showed no drugs or alcohol in her body but said she had vaginal abrasions.
Lt. Gen. Suwat Tumrongsiskul, head of Thailand's immigration police, said by telephone that he was not present for the questioning, which was conducted by U.S. law enforcement officials.
But, according to what the general said he was told of the questioning, the suspect, John Mark Karr, "said he drugged the child." Suwat did not say who briefed him on the questioning.
Karr claimed he had sex with Ramsey, who was still alive, Suwat said. Karr said he then realized he had "accidentally" killed her, according to the general.
A spokesman for the U.S. Embassy said it had no information about Karr's alleged actions or what he said to questioners. U.S. and Colorado law enforcement officials were unavailable for comment.
I was listening to part of an interview with Patsy's sister Pam when the alarm went of this morning. The part of the interview was about how the media goes nuts over cases and the 'trial' is finished 5 minutes after the police and media get show up.
Then there is the feeding frenzy at the court house.
Oh and the hand writting 'expert'.
Then Ryan, the guy doing the interview apologized to Pam for things he'd said about the Ramseys.
I had read yesterday that the DNA matched.
My immediate first thoguht too, The Man Who Fell to Earth
What's taking so long getting him to the US?
re: 1
Talk about a creepy little man!
Sheesh!
Thank you kindly.
It's possible Karr knew the Ramseys when they lived in Conyers as it's a relatively small suburb of Atlanta. In 2000 the population was just over 10,000.
This man looks like a sick man. He should never be allowed in a class room with young children.
I can think of three possibilities about the ex's alibi for him (besides that it's true).
Maybe she knew something and failed to report it. Maybe she is legally culpable for not doing something when she had an obligation to, and she doesn't want him convicted of something she could be ensnared in.
Maybe she doesn't want the father of her 3 sons to wind up a convicted child murderer and be executed.
Maybe she has confused a date or something in her memory. How do we know she doesn't have a poor memory or maybe mental difficulties and is confused.
I don't know.
Have to wait and see.
It is entirely possible, though, that this whole confession thing is an act and a crock.
AFLAAAAAK!?.......nah.........
I keep reading that allegation here but can't find a source anywhere else. This guy looks like he's either on drugs or suffering from some illness. The video of him shows the guy staggering around and virtually falling into a chair. He looks very thin- drawn really- and rather detached. Sure makes you wonder whether he's really with it.
JonBenet could have told him about the 118k and he just took it from there............
He looks like a one-man no-gut losing streak to me.
If someone dies in under 6 hours, wouldn't an agent "remain" in her blood?
Considering that he faces time in a Thai prison, someone last night said that if he were in that same situation he would plead guilty to kidnapping the Lindbergh baby if it meant that he would get to spend time in an American prison instead.
He looks like a real wierdo.
I have long theorized to friends who live(d) in Colorado that (IMO) one of the Ramseys knew the killer, had allowed the killer in their house the night of her death, had possibly allowed the killer to have (sexual) access to JonBonet in some fashion (providing access to suggestive/explicit pictures of her, at a minimum), and thus shared guilt/complicity in her death. There was no way they could point to the real killer without implicating one or both of them (especially if only one of them was involved), hence the Ramsey's need to call in their lawyers so early on.
Time will tell how close my theory was, but so far it looks like I may be right.
I agree. Something makes me think this guy was obsessed with her and somehow wants to identify with her, even if by being accused of killing her.
There is way more to this story I think. I'm not convinced he did it yet.
