While most of the attention is understandably on the news about the War on Islamic Terrorists in Israel, London and elsewhere, let's not forget about these brave mountain climbers who are now missing in Pakistani K2 mountain (the World 2nd largest Mountain after Everest). They need all prayers they could get.

Let me get this straight. These people knew the risks and were not forced by anyone to try to climb this mountain. Sorry while I hope they are alright I do not consider them brave for attempting this. Crazy, yes. Brave no.

Let me get this straight. These people knew the risks and were not forced by anyone to try to climb this mountain. Sorry while I hope they are alright I do not consider them brave for attempting this. Crazy, yes. Brave no. So if they were "forced" then you would consider them brave? But others who volunteered for dangerous activities, you would not consider brave? Magellan was not brave for setting off around the world? The families who set off on the Oregon Trail through Indian country were not brave? The crew of Apollo 11 were not brave when they went to the moon? Soldiers in Iraq on patrol are not brave? All because they knew the risks and volunteered? I don't get your reasoning.

They died getting their kicks. Would you consider somebody who blows his brains out playing russian roulette "brave"?
To: FreedomCalls
My reasoning is simple. K2 has been climbed before. Nothing to learn. Been there seen that kind of thing. Also, this is not some type of mission to save the world, people or anything important. It's a bunch of people that like to climb mountains. Brave? Nope. Foolish? I think so.

It's Pakistan...maybe they were just murdered by terrorists.

Me too

Yes it's been climbed before and maybe not by them. Does anybody remember who was the 2nd person to climb Everest? How about reaching either of the poles? Very few. Except for their personal feelings of accomplishment nobody cares. I hope that they make it out ok I just cannot waste time worrying about people that do stupid things taking unnecessary risks.
