LIVORNO, Italy -- A small group of Croatian fans formed a human swastika midway through an exhibition game with Italy on yesterday.
Sitting on one end of Livorno's Armando Picchi stadium in a section walled off from Italian fans by large barriers, about 200 Croatian supporters arranged themselves into the Nazi symbol about 30 minutes into Croatia's 2-0 win.
Livorno is known as a left-wing town and the Croatian fans were apparently trying to incite the home fans.
Police eventually moved in, forcing the fans to stop.

You mean some people actually get it wrong and have it go counter-clockwise?

If that's how they behave during a "friendly" game, I'd hate to see a grudge match.

Didn't the Croatians support Nazi Germany against Tito and his partisans during World War II?

There is no such thing as a "friendly" soccer match, to a hooligan or a hooligan-wannabe. As far as they are concerned, a friendly is an excuse to drink without fearing the consequences.

Livorno is known as a left-wing town and the Croatian fans were apparently trying to incite the home fans. Somebody needs to inform the Croatians that the Nazis were 'left-wing' (ie. National Socialist), too.

Didn't the Croatians support Nazi Germany against Tito and his partisans during World War II? Yup. The Ustase were fascist volunteers from Croatia. Very nasty.

Not exclusvly. Muslim Serbs also were part of the Nazi movement.

Nice that someone knows a bit of history. Kind of rare around here some days.

I didn't say anything about exclusivity. I merely gave the name used by the Croatian Nazis.

Looks like Nazism and anti-Semitism is back in full force in Croatia.
