Starbucks faces buggy rap
DAILY NEWS ^ | PAUL H.B. SHIN

Current and former employees of the gourmet coffee chain filed a federal complaint yesterday claiming their corporate bosses have refused to heed repeated warnings about inadequate training and chronic infestations of roaches, rats and other vermin in New York stores.

But the company strongly denied the allegations, noting the complaints were coordinated by a handful of activists who are trying to unionize the chain's normally merry band of baristas.

Out of the 201 Starbucks stores in the city, the Department of Health issued notices of violation to 44 for rodent or insect activity in the most recent round of inspections, city records show.

One would think that a scam shop with the nerve to charge $4 for a cup of flavored hot water, would have the nerve to kill a few roaches and rats.

Semper Fi

With all the various sugary flavorings and various gooey snacks, I'm sure those places are bug heaven...a roach would just love to get in one of those places just to lick the floor!

Starbucks has excellent pay and benefits and provides a terrific work environment for those with little training, education or opportunity.

However, apparently, that isn't enough for some unions. They will smear the liberal, progressive managers at Starbucks in order to get their way and charge employees big monthly dues for minisucle improvements in "work conditions".

Pity, that.

Why isn't $tarbuck$ viewed similarly to Wal-Mart, as an icon of capitalism? I would as soon a Starbuck$ as a Wal-Mart. And 'barista' is a neologism as $5 is illogical. Break up AT&T? Break up Wal-Mart. Screw unions.

Put down the double cappucino and see if you can re-type that in coherent sentences.

It seems that unions are the automatic whine trigger on FR like "W" is the whine trigger for the nuts on the left. If "W" or unions possessed the power that is imparted to them they would be the absolute master of this nation.
And, why all of the cheap shots at Starbucks? It's a successful business. I thought that was something that conservatives were very much in favor of. The CEO has a different political bent than do I but when was success limited to those with a specific political leaning?
This place is getting as nuts about Starbucks as the wrong siders are about Wal-Mart.

'Soon' has synonyms WILLINGLY and READILY that readily lead to English idiom.

A graduate of a self-esteem academy to so crassly address one's ignorance?

A principle of philosophy is 'the name is not the thing.' Your name may be 'Lucido' ... it's called an epithet.

Okay, you got the adverb. Plan on inserting a verb someplace?

I would just as soon _______ a Starbucks as a Walmart.

Own?

Shop at?

Raze?

Live near?

Paint?

And we haven't even started parsing: "And 'barista' is a neologism as $5 is illogical. "

Really, I don't mean to give you a hard time. I enjoy a lively, good-hearted sometimes. It's just nice to understand what the person is trying to say first.
