Bush drops reference to 'Islamic fascists'
STATE DEPARTMENT
President Bush has avoided repetition of a term that angered Muslims.
Responding last week to the foiling of an alleged plot to blow up flights between Britain and the United States, Bush said, "This nation is at war with Islamic fascists."
That triggered immediate objections from the Council of American-Islamic Relations, and another objection today from the government of Saudi Arabia.
In a statement after its weekly meeting, the Saudi Cabinet "warned against labeling Muslims with accusations of terrorism and fascism."
Bush didn't repeat the reference to "Islamic fascists" at the State Department today, referring instead to "individuals that would like to kill innocent Americans to achieve political objectives."

As much as I think he's a semi-schizo--I think Michael Savage is the first one I heard use that term.
He seldom uses those terms anyway, so now that he did not repeat them in consecutive speeches, he has "dropped" it.
The AP is full of sh*t.
Considering they are in favor of eliminating Isreal from the map, I would wipe my butt with their objection.
"It's not the first time you used it, Dubya. Suck it up, and keep using it."
(lightening strikes twice) I agree with Coop.
Wow.
Can we still say envirofascist?
Sounds like CAIR and SA took GW to the woodshed.PC'ness wins again.
Could use an Animal House moment in the White House.
Bush: What the happened to the White House I used to know? Where's the spirit? Where's the guts, huh? "Ooh, we're afraid to go with you Mr. Bush, we might get in trouble." Well just kiss my #@# from now on! Not me! I'm not gonna take this. Nasrala, hes a dead man, Ahmadinejad, dead! Kim Jon-il...
To wit Mr. President:
Folks:
Extremists:
He only has to use it every once in a while for it to have impact......
No good reason for the Prez to stop using the term Islamofascists. None whatsoever. Hopefully that is not the case. Although I haven't heard him use it in several speeches he's given this week. No PC necessary.
I am glad you remembered this. It should be posted repeatedly when some idiot refers to CAIR as a moderate organization.
Muslims do not come to America to assimilate, they come to America to dominate.

It's incredible to me how quickly he caved in to the pressure groups, just when I thought he was finally starting to develop some cojones.
Consider this. If the NYT and ACLU had their way the airliner plot would have suceeded and thousands would have died. The outrage at the mass murder would have been similar to 9/11. However the plot was foiled and so it is considered no big deal. Just as if the 9/11 plot would have been foiled it would have been no big deal. My point is that we should be just as outraged at the attempt regardless of the outcome. Personally I prefer raining as much death and destruction on arab lands as is necessary to make it possible for us to get on a plane carrying a diet cola.
Hey.........sure wouldn't want to up-set the animals who are trying to kill us, now would we?
Yes, it does. Did you hear that speech? It sounded like Bush was struggling for the "right" words to say, and came up with the "extremist" word again. So, yes, it's true, he dropped the "Islamofacist" word.
Thattaway to show some backbone!
Pathetic, Mr Bush.
