By returning Joe to the Senate despite the despicable treachery of the Dean leftist democrat party IS dividing democrats. The pubby candidate is ethically compromised and hasn't a pray of being elected in a blue state.
The Democratic Party today simply will not allow any of its candidates to be truly pro-life. It's an automatic DQ. So, people like Joe rationalize it in their own minds, but always vote the way the Party says.
My prediction is that the alleged "pro-life" Democrats, Casey in PA and Ritter in Colorado will come out exactly the same way; there won't be a single pro-life bill they can support, for any number of "dog ate my homework" explanations.
Agreed, which is why we need to get him to drop out, and replace him with a viable replacement (I suggested Jack Orchully, Sen. Mckinney and Sen. O'Connor). All are capable of winning a three or four way election.
Well, let's at least try to get that guy to go back to Derby and leave us alone. Because if we have the chance, we CAN win this seat -- just not with Schlesinger.
I meant Jack Orchulli, not Orchully. Need more coffee.
Thanks very much.
I disagree with Joe on many things. But he is right on the WOT, and that is enough for me. Your milage may vary.
Also, who is Senator O'Connor: District, hometown, voting tendencies???? Is he John O'Connor from the Hartford area????
Would you imagine that you might find an abortion mill in Saudi Arabia???? Afghanistan????? Iraq???? Iran?????
Also, Weicker has briefly re-emerged in support of Red Ned Lamont.
My brain isn't working. US Attorney Kevin O'Connor is one of the most popular figures in the state -- if he could be persuaded to run, he'd beat both of them clowns.
Which is more convoluted: supporting a liberal Democrat who votes left of Hillary (Lieberman) or finding an electable Republican (not Lieberman, not Schlesinger). I don't see how voting for Lieberman, in the hopes that he might vote more conservative out of gratitude is anything but the most convoluted pipe dream imagineable.

This one was zotted by the mighty Jim Robinson himself. See #75
""The sole candidate who filed for the race was ex-State Senator and Derby Mayor Alan Schlesinger. He was viewed as having very little chance of prevailing even in a three-way race, and he was hurt all the more by being forced to admit that he ran up gambling debts at Connecticut's reservations by using an assumed name. Many Republicans -- including popular Governor Jodi Rell, pressured Schlesinger to abandon his bid, but he has refused.""

(I don't know how accurate this is since I'm not from Connecticut and haven't followed it.)
BUT IT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.
Grow a spine and vote Republican.
