"If we had math books from 1988, reading books from 1988, as a parent, I would be furious," said Patty Rafailedes

What an idiot!

Our family is so old-fashioned and modest that I put Sticky Notes over really pictures in my nursing books. My teen just got her Anatomy & Physiology book yesterday and bought a new pack of Post-Its. She plans to "accessorize" her photos.

"If we had math books from 1988, reading books from 1988, as a parent, I would be furious," said Patty Rafailedes, a physical education teacher.

Oh come on. Math doesn't change much at least not at the high school level. The reading materials written in the last 20 years are a buch of PC drivel.

This is what flabbergasts me:

statistics through July 2005 showed that 104 of the 586 babies born to Canton residents in Aultman Hospital and Mercy Medical Center had mothers between the ages of 11 and 19.

There is a likelihood that 11 year old was pregnant at the age of 10. What in the hell has happened to being a little girl?

Their babies will be born for free and then they'll get their own apartment, free food and a stipend every month.

And Mommy will be exempt from state college tuituon with day care provided. Cha-ching.

They should really just reduce the amount of assigned homework...

Any idea about the racial and economic make up of the school? Remember, some portions of our society think that having children by the truck full is fine without ever being married.

50 years ago, we had NO sex education in schools. We also had a near zero pregnancy rate.

I don't think that high school sponsored Sex Education is the problem here. Nor the solution.

I think Jeff Foxworthy (you know you are a red-neck) went there. I could be wrong.

Years ago if a girl got pregnant she would be sent out of town to visit her aunt - or so the story went. Actually she went to a home for unwed mothers for the duration. There were no rewards, only sadness for the girl and her family.

Of course the guy who got her pregnant went on with his life.

"We live in a godless society, so it's no surprise that so many young girls get pregnant these days."

I agree. When I had my first date with my wife, she got in the car and placed a Bible on the seat between us. I said what's that for? She said she felt more comfortable knowing Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John were sitting between us.

Kept my hands off of her the whole night.

I graduated 20 years ago and we had no sex ed then, either. At least not at my school.

Now there are baby showers and maternity prom dresses.

Of course the guy who got her pregnant went on with his life?

This is one good change. In order to qualify for financial aid in Texas, the father of baby will be forced to pay child support and reimburse the state for the aid. When I am talking to teens about dating, I just ask the guys, "Do you really want to be sending this girl (and her future boyfriends/husband) a third of you paycheck for the next 18 years?"

Find the fathers and make them dig ditches to pay for child support. Make an example of them!

Wow, I did not know English and Math has changed since 1988.

yup, reading books now are partly written in spanish, partly in ebonics, and partly l33t 5p33k. they are also no longer books, they are computer programs with a pictoral GUI.
math books are written with new math that fails to explain how intrest rates work, and counting is taught with leftist bias (if there are 1,424,632 people in a polling precinct how many dead people's votes can you pad your totals with before being caught). there are also alternative courses in drug weights, measures and values, which is linked to advanced chem (how to make and cut drugs at home).

On a positive note, they didn't have abortions. Maybe this percentage is typical of a lot of schools but most of them just kill the baby.

With that in mind, maybe we should not be so hard on the people in this school. Otherwise we are being hypocrites when we say we are against abortion.
