Those pesky voters, especially conservative ones,, you should seek counseling or that hatred behind your posts that seeps out will eventually cause you ill effects.

I know just seeing the same old post over and over and over and over and over has that effect on me, and I suspect many others..

Yes, blame the voters for refusing to approve a measure that did NOT actually restrain spending and which would have authorized a new round of borrowing, which what Prop. 76 was all about. Arnold's campaign didn't even bother to state it would immediately the balance the budget. No - they said the opposite to the press. And the other measures were so weak, they were an afterthought. The "Year Of Reform" it wasn't.

California is in for a world of hurt if Angelides gets elected. And there are some poor deluded folks on this board who seem to favor him, who come to these threads just to denigrate the Governor. How sad.

I am an equal opportunity denigrator, Thank You.
There are a lot of votes to be sought out elsewhere for the Gub in California, why a few continue to try and gather them here is a testament to the desperation those who seek out votes on a conservative forum for liberal leaning candidates is a bit much. Oh well.

How's the weather in Colorado lately, btw? ;-)

Sounds like your setting up your plans and excuse to stay home and NOT go and vote AGAIN. Will you be using the same excuse you used last time?

Phil stoops for a new low, trying to get into the Governor's office by the back door.

And don't forget, he risked his entire political capital to put the conservative reform propositions on the ballot, and teh voters pulled the rug out from under him.

And one of the loudest complainers here [always has a little red tagline]is one who admitted she didn't think it was worth the trouble to get off her butt and go and vote.

committed to equality under the law for all Californians

Funny... actually Arnold is committed to equality under the law, it just happens the law in CA does *not* support their position. Boo-hoo. If they were really sincere they'd be patient and work on 'change hearts, change minds' rather than trying to find a back-door via judge shopping tactics, for example.

I'd love to stay in California but I'm getting out before things really do turn south.

Did you happen to read this article at AmSpec this morning?

Going Beyond Same-Sex Marriage

Snips:

Advocates of same-sex unions of course argue that they only want equality for homosexual persons. Conservative skeptics surmise that the campaign to redefine marriage is about considerably more than simply legal recognition for same-sex couples. In fact, they suspect, the ultimate goal is to set aside marriage altogether as a repressive and patriarchal anachronism. In its absence, all consensual sexual arrangements will be legitimate.

The suspicions will find confirmation in a new statement from a coalition of sexual pioneers called, "Beyond Same-Sex Marriage: A New Strategic Vision for All Our Families & Relationships" (www.beyondmarriage.org). Released last month, the statement specifically endorses "committed, loving households in which there is more than one conjugal partner," among many other sexual alternatives.

Organized by a "diverse group of nearly twenty LGBT [lesbian-gay-bisexual-transgender] and queer activists," the several hundred signatories include a predictable list of homosexual rights advocates, sexologists, self-professed pagans, and practitioners of polyamory, among other colorful categories. But it also includes Rabbi Michael Lerner of Tikkun, Cornel West at Harvard, Gloria Steinem of Ms. magazine, and a smattering of rabbis, Unitarians, Quakers, ex-nuns, and leftist Protestant clergy.

end snips.
