Listing of Black Republican Candidates for Major Office (2006)
8.14.06 | Michael King

Posted on 08/14/2006 7:10:55 AM PDT by mhking

I've been incessantly busy, and for that, I apologize - time has not been as readily available to me over the past few months, but I'll do my best to stick my head in here a bit more often as we move forward.

This listing came across my desk this weekend -- it is a detailed list of black Republican candidates for state and national offices this year. They are definitely worth taking a look at, and, provided they meet with your personal approval (after seriously considering their credentials and viewpoints, of course), are worthy of your support.

Thanks for taking an honest and open look at them.

If you want on (or off) of my black conservative ping list, please let me know via FREEPmail. (And no, you don't have to be black to be on the list!)

Good morning, Michael.

There is also Michael Steele for U.S. Senate in Maryland, Kenneth Blackwell for Governor in Ohio, and Lynn Swann for Governor in Pennsylvania. If these are part of a list you posted, but I've not seen, please forgive me.

Have a great day! Please keep me on your BC ping list.

Richard Holt: U.S. Congress District 6 http://www.teamholt.net

He lost the primary to Charlie Blasdel, and his website is dead.

Mr. Willams might be a good candidate to replace Tom Delay?

I don't know much about him but I like the idea of putting a good black republican on the ballot!

Any chance Gary Franks might decide to run as a write-in for Connecticut senator? He remains to be Connecticut's most prominant conservative politician.

Alan Schlessinger won't win, even when the liberal vote is split between three candidates.

You left out three very high-profile candidates:

Lynn Swann is running for PA Governor

Ken Blackwell is running for OH Governor

http://www.kenblackwell.com/

And Michael Steele is running for the US Senate from MD

I look forward to the day when such things will be as irrelevant as the candidate's shoe size. As MLK said, actions and content of character are what matters.

I like your idea. I don't know a great deal about his qualifications or if he would be interested, but I like the way he speaks.

Dear mhking,

Although I think he may have started out running for the 5th District US Representative in Maryland, Ron Miller is actually running for the Maryland Senate, against incumbent Senate President Mike Miller.

I like him because he is a black republican and they really piss off the democrats and Big Media pundits!

...how shallow is that.
