NOW's 1966 statement of purpose declared: ``The purpose of NOW is to take action to bring women into full participation in the mainstream of American society now, exercising all the privileges and responsibilities thereof. . . .

While paying lip service to the idea of equal parenting, NOW has steadfastly opposed efforts to broaden the rights of divorced fathers. With the exception of a few chapters, it has staunchly opposed such proposals as joint custody and mediation instead of litigation. Ten years ago, NOW issued an ``Action Alert against fathers' rights," which accused divorced men who seek a role in their children's lives of abusing power ``in the same fashion as do batterers."

Today, it's mostly boys and young men who are on the short end of educational inequality -- as high school and college dropouts and the ``missing persons" on college campuses. Yet NOW has nothing to say on this issue.
While NOW has done important work in spearheading legislation to combat domestic violence and aid victims, it has also helped perpetuate a gender-biased, one-sided view of the problem in which men are virtually always the abusers and women virtually always the victims -- despite abundant research suggesting a far more complex picture.

NOW set out to undermine the family, convince women they were nothing if they didn't work outside the home and that men were an impediment to women's sense of self.
I'd say they succeeded quite well for a while.
NOW was never even THEN.
They are a microscopically tiny number of shrill voices given prominence only by the collusion of the sympathetic MSM.
They refuse to divulge the numbers of their membership which, given the high profile and worshipfully grovelling coverage they have enjoyed for 40 years, should be in the millions.

1. Abandoning all semblance of principle to defend a sexual predator-rapist president.

N.O.W.'s main legacy has been making men into women and women into men and teaching both groups of morphed "ladies" to claim they are proud of their self-destructive social mutation.
People don't know that lesbians were banned from the organization, but in less than a decade, lesbians had infiltrated it and shortly after won total control.
Now was largely destroyed as an effective force by it's total submission to President Clinton.
