Out of curiosity, what do you think that op cost?

Evidently, it's difficult to tell the martyrs from the non-martyrs until it's too late. :o)

If a jet is travelling 500 mph, how does the pilot keep his sights constant on the target?

Not a bad idea. It makes it more sporting.

I think it's like one of those math problems from high school. You know, if a train leaves Los Angeles travelling at 75 miles and hour and another train leaves Chicao going 80 miles an hour......

Whatever it cost, if it saved even one soldier from injury or death, it was worth it.

It's actually done through some sophisticated electronics.
Once the pilot gets his target and sets it, the computer takes over and keeps the sights (or laser designator) on target until "delivery". He doesn't even have to look at it again.
(But I'd be willing to bet most do, just to enjoy the satisfaction of a job well done.)

GEEEZ what the hell did they hit those guys with anyway ?
Wonder how far away the aircraft was when they shot this..At that speed they had to be at some distance for the guys on the ground not to hear the jet coming .
Nice work for sure....
