March 2, 2006 Pakistani officials told ABC News that they believe they have indications that a new terrorist attack against the United States is being planned there. They told ABC News that while their intelligence does not give any specific details as to a target or time, it does indicate that an emerging al Qaeda figure is making plans.
Pakistani military officials say Matiur Rehman, 29, a Pakistani militant, is behind the new plans for an attack against the United States. Pakistan has posted a 10-million rupee (about $166,000) award for his capture.
"He is probably Pakistan's most wanted right now," says Alexis Debat, a former adviser in the French defense ministry and now an ABC News consultant. "He is extremely dangerous because of his role as the crucial interface between the brains of al Qaeda and its muscle, which is mainly composed these days of Pakistani militants."

Who captured him?
I'm not following you...is Rauf this guy?
Go ahead.....make my day!!
Take a good shot at the dnc.
Naturally, you won't.....you lack the balls.
Rather insulting reward, if you ask me, considering the alternative could be $100 billion in damages and 50,000 lives lost.
Matiur Rehman and Rashid Rauf are the same person. His capture by Pakistan almost 2 weeks ago triggered the "Go" signal for the Heathrow attacks. He is a British citizen and most likely is being tortured for Bin Laden's location as we speak.

When Amjad Farooqi was gunned down in a shootout with the police in Karachi in September 2004, his deputy, Matiur Rehman, inherited his boss's "Rolodex of Jihad" as well as his ever closer links with al Qaeda. Now teamed up with Al Libbi's third in command Abu Suleiman, according to Pakistani military and civilian sources, Matiur Rehman is now Pakistan's "most wanted" with a price tag of 10 million Rupees ($166,000). As reported by ABC News' Brian Ross on March 1, he is believed to be shuttling between Karachi, where he draws most of his support, and the tribal areas, where al Qaeda's senior leadership is still suspected to be hiding.
There were several arrests also made in Pakistan today in connection with the case, but the suspected ringleader remains at large. Pakistani officials say this 29-year old al Qaeda commander, Matiur Rehman, was known to be planning a terror spectacular to mark the fifth anniversary of the 9/ll attacks. The London plot may well have been it.
Oh, my...! Pakistan is just full of treachery and pain.
I cannot FATHOM what they must be doing to him now, but somehow I know it's really creative.
An AP report said they were the same person, but I guess that shows what happens when you trust AP as a source. I'll ask that this thread be pulled.
Please pull this thread.
Would this have anything to do with thousands of cellphone detonators?
Nuts. Pakistan is playing both sides. No one should believe that they are policing their borders, or capturing terrorists.

And well deserved.
Just fix the title. Thread is informative
Grateful...something...
Cheers!
I believe the band's name is "Slow, rambling, guitar-work that never really gets to the point."
