LONDON (Reuters) - Muslim groups said on Saturday Britain's policy on Iraq and Lebanon was fuelling militancy, as Pakistan said it had arrested a British al Qaeda member over an alleged plot to blow up trans-atlantic airliners.
(cut)
In an open letter to Prime Minister Tony Blair, leading Muslim groups and politicians said his foreign policies on issues such as Iraq and the Israel-Hizbollah war were putting civilians at increased risk of attack in Britain and elsewhere.
"The debacle of Iraq and now the failure to do more to secure an immediate end to attacks on civilians in the Middle East not only increases the risk to ordinary people in that region, it is also ammunition to extremists who threaten us all," they said in the letter, published in the Times newspaper.
Many Muslims are critical of Blair's decisions to commit British troops to the 2003 U.S.-led invasion of Iraq and not to call for an immediate halt to the fighting between Israel and Lebanese Hizbollah guerrillas.
"We urge the prime minister to redouble his efforts to tackle terror and extremism and change our foreign policy," said the letter, whose signatories included six Labour MPs.
Responding to the letter, Transport Secretary Douglas Alexander told Channel 4 television: "Nothing justifies the kind of actions which terrorists perpetrate."

Correction:
I urge the Prime Minister to redouble his efforts to tackle terror and extremism by expelling all them rabid Islamofacist vermin in Britain, back to Pakistan.
That's fixed it.

I really want to get a grip on public opinion today to see what (if any) impact these plots have had on people here.
Any evidence that people's views are hardening over there?
See the way Islam gets it's publicity out quickly to influence the agenda!
It's a verbal equivalent of photoshopped pics in Lebanon.

"Policy fuels militancy"... right. This tired old song has been sung by the likes of Yassar Arafat for what, 40 or 50 years? Islam does not want better living conditions, or a higher minimum wage, or free health care, or any of the other things that ivory tower MSM liberals think of that make up a socialist utopia.
Islam is open and honest about what it wants: The complete destruction of the Jewish state, Jews as a people, and anybody associated with them. That is the "policy" that fuels militancy.
To: vimto
Do what Islam wants and we won't bomb you. (As if!)That's because beheadings only require a few old ladies going "lalalalalala" and a dude with rusty hacksaw while his madrassa buddies chant "Allahu Akbar" in the background. The bombs are only to catch the ones that run away before they tie them up.

And the excuse for killing so many British nationals on 9/11 was...?
Ahh, yes, don't confuse them with facts.

I'll ask again and in caps....WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY DOING HERE? Why live here if it's so horrible? Why not live in a nice Islamic country where Iams rule and Sharia laws are inforced, no Joos, Buddhists, Christians, Hindus are allowed and they can pray and worship Moe all they want???????????

Translation from PC speak:
"If you Euros JUST surrender to us Islamic Fascists then we will have no reason to be militants."
Seems Europe learned NOTHING from the 1930s. Paging Mr Nevil Chamberlain, Paging Mr Nevil Chamberlain.

I think they want to kill us. They keep saying they do not believe in the killing of innocent people, but if you open any Koran, they define anyone who is not Islamic as being the "evildoers" and therefore NOT innocent. That means, they want us all dead.
What we have here (IN AMERICA) is a failure to communicate.
They continue to "pretend" they mean us no harm, but all the while, they are scheming to annihilate us all.
