War On Terror: George Bush and Tony Blair have been ceaselessly lambasted for charting a new course to defend the free world against terrorism. The foiling of the British airline plot proves how right they've been.
But these two leaders have been right all along in recognizing the magnitude of what the civilized world faces, and the extraordinary measures required in defending us against this new threat.
Right there are two areas in which Bush has been attacked: the National Security Agency's international phone monitoring and the Treasury Department's surveillance of international financial transactions. And it's now more obvious than ever that such methods are imperative if terrorist cells are to be stopped before they strike.

That is expecting too much.
The media and their buddies are already making sure no voter puts this together.
American people?
Why don't we start with so-called conservatives on here who have been threatening to stay home, or even vote for Democrats (!) because Bush hasn't been conservative enough.
They do. It's called the BBC. They hate Jews and Israel as much as al-Jazeera.
A poster at Little Green Footballs reports that the tin hat crowd at the Democratic Underground claims that Rove/Bush/Blair colluded to arrest Muslims and claim that they were hatching a devastating attack just to keep us all afraid, and to deflect criticism from our continuing operations in Iraq.
And nominally religious Jews as much as the New York Times.
Any reporter who wrote about this investigation would have found himself clapped in irons and in the dock before the day was through.

BBC Boycott... Again?
Israel says it may resume a boycott of the BBC over what it calls the network's anti-Israeli bias.
The country ended a seven-month boycott of BBC News in 2003 after the BBC appointed an independent panel to eliminate bias in its Middle East coverage.
But diplomatic officials tell The Jerusalem Post the BBC is back to its old tricks, saying its reports "give the impression that the BBC is working on behalf of Hezbollah instead of doing fair journalism."
And a government spokesman says the BBC is "the only international English-speaking news outlet that is downright hostile to Israel on every level," calling its reporting "similar to Al-Jazeera."
My, thanks for that. I wonder if they will send out bumper stickers that say The BBC Lies like they did with CNN? We have them on our cars and people always ask where we got them and how they can get them. I strongly support Israel and am really dismayed that they are once again falling for the cease fire. It appears to me that the media of the world are on the side of all of the terrorists.
Amen and exactly. Unite and make sure our national security is secure. They carpers can whine after a new Prez is elected in '08 but for '06, keep a Pub Congress or regret it to your dying days ( which if the Dems have their way, could be sooner than anyone expects).
You really have to admire the Isrealis on so many different levels. I wish we could be more like Isreal. They seem to "get it" a lot better than the general public here does. I suppose being subjected to attacks on a daily basis since 1948 is the ultimate reality check.
".....and the ignorant fools who refuse to face reality....'
I believe the proper term is "Useful idiots..."
a la Stalin
It is clear that the Islamo-Fascists care not a whit for life, and the MSM barking dogs of moon-battery are all too happy to do the bidding of those disgusting cowardly beasts.
How about we start with people like you, who sign up and immediately start trying to stir up problems.
Can you say ZOT!!
I saw a picture of a dead kitten on the internet. I'm so depressed now, I don't think I'm going to bother voting. /sarc
Is there any 'conservative' that hates the Bushes so much that they are willing to vote for a Democrat simply to be able to say, "I told you so"...?
