Texas Senate: Hutchison Cruising
Hutchison 61%, Radnofsky 31%

That means there is 11% undecided. This could be fun.

"Three months from the election, the twisty four-way race for Texas Governor continues to keep political junkies on the edge of their seats."
Looks to me like Perry has had a margin over the number 2 candidate by greater than the number of undecideds plus the margin of error throughout the election cycle. It may be weird for that to be true for a candidate at 35%, but it's never looked like he is in serious trouble.

Texas continues it's tradition of politicians with goofy nick names. The ballot, after the lawsuits will look like this:
Governor Goodhair (R)
"Kinky" Friedman (without the Texas Jewboys) (I)
"Grandma" Carole Keeton Rylander Strayhorn McLellan (and whoever else she marries between now and election day) (I)
That Dem guy that nobody remembers his name (D)

I refuse to believe that Kinky Friedman really has the support 18 percent of the electorate in Texas... his presence in the race is throwing off the numbers.... Perry is stronger than 35 percent.

Its sad to have 5 nutters on the ballot for Governor.... which is the lesser of Nutjobs?? Perry... I guess. If I win the lotto before election day he has my vote.

Perry is pushing the Trans Texas Corridor, which is mighty unpopular with folks along its projected path.

I think Perry has done a pretty good job considering the way the State government runs. He has two things going against him: his personality and his speaking style. He puts you to sleep while the paint is drying.

I heard on the radio that Perry has agreed to one debate - the Friday night before the Texas/OU game in October - against Bell, Friedman and Strayhorn. The Dallas Morning News and Belo Television will be the hosts and I presume they will select the moderator. Grab some popcorn...

My prediction,
Perry 45%
Kinky 23%
Bell 20%
Strayhorn,12%
I have an ultra hip(in his own mind) reletive in Austin. He also voted for Nader.

I'm not from Texas but why is Perry polling 35% in the home state of our beloved President?
And I have never heard about any scandals that he was involved in?

Perry will have to pick up the vibes of the Right to get my vote... otherwise, it's Kinky for me -- if only just for the halibut.

In the for what it's worth column ... visited the Austin-San Antonio area of Texas a year or two ago. Saw a picture of Texas Governor Perry and his wife in a flashy tourist brochure. Reminded me of one of those billboards you see along the road in larger communities of the local TV anchor & anchorette (or vice-versa). Way, way to cutesy.
