H'WOOD MORONS
SUDDENLY CLAM UP

STRANGE and unfamiliar sound emanated from Hollywood yesterday - total silence. It now looks as if the 9/11 attacks were just meant to be a tepid dress rehearsal for the big show. The atrocities that were narrowly averted yesterday - planes bound for our shores, to be blown up in midair by men who hate - prove one thing beyond doubt:
If we care to watch our children grow up, get old enough to retire to Florida, or simply live to see another dawn, we must be vigilant. We cannot relax.
The bullet we dodged whizzed by frighteningly close. That the thousands, perhaps more, that were targeted for death are alive today is testament to the success of governments in Britain and the United States. The ones so viciously maligned by the lefty set who, if allowed to dictate policy, would destroy this nation in a matter of hours.
So it was stunning not to hear the nasal voice of Barbra Streisand, slamming the president in a time of war. Just this past January, Babs was in her usual form in her incoherent blog. She wrote:
"Is this the America we have been fighting for? The Bush administration has failed once more in their [sic] mission to make American safer.
"There is an increasing anti-American sentiment in the Middle East."
John Murtha of Pennsylvania, the House's chief voice of enemy-appeasement - he's called for an unconditional cease-fire in Lebanon and said U.S. Marines "killed innocent civilians in cold blood" in Haditha - was also not in a talkative mood.
Nor was Susan Sarandon, who declared, at a peace rally in Washington after the war in Iraq commenced, that "terrorism cannot be fought with violence."
Damn, Susan. How would you fight it?
We have been reminded in

I don't disagree. We didn't take Islamic terror seriously for 30 years, and Presidents of both parties are at fault, even the Great One.

The Hollywood morons fly more than most of us. They are looking the death cult in the face.
OK, so one of the H-morons is on one of the planes that blows up. The H-moron crowd would hold a huge memorial at which they would drone on about how Bush failed to protect them. It's hopeless with these fools.

If they had been on such a plane can you imagine what all the loony conspiracy theorists would have come up with?

Don't you know what they think & will soon be saying....it's because of the Afghanistan & Iraq War...now you've got the Israeli War...that's what's stirred up all this. This is exactly what they'll say. Wait and see...justifying their stance against these wars and the present administration. It's a comin'...

H'wood tried to recoup by making the new 9/11 movie, but just couldn't resist letting Fidel suckup Oliver Stone direct it. After his mega homobomb, Alexander, OS needs a hit.
I did have an open mind about this movie until I read a few reviews that pointed out the fact that OBL or Muslims or terrorists are just three subjects never once mentioned in the entire movie. As far as I can tell from these reviews, this is a rehash of that Towering Inferno movie, only without so many stars.
H'wood movies can jam it. I'm done with them. Walking a very thin line in this house is network TV. I am only waiting until the LO:SVU show runs out of gruesome sexual perversions happening to small children of both sexes. I want to see the episode that is so sick, so twisted, so blatantly Leftie Nanny State PC BS that I actually puke on my shoes. Then I'll be done with TV. I do watch Boston Legal, but I view it as a comedic rendering of David E. Kelly's mental illness.
TiVo is my new best friend. I've taped some of those truly great old movies and shared them with my daughter and her friends who are quite surprised at how beautiful and charming the actresses of that time were...Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, and even Shirley McLaine. Shirl's nuttier than a fruitcake, but nobody ever knew it. That era had polish and class. The filth was well hidden and it was good for all of us. Now they put the contents of a toilet bowl up on a megaplex screen and young people worship the new golden calf.
Sad for the kids these days.

My recollection of the news of 9/11 goes a little like this: I was awakened (In Savannah) by my wife who had been chatting on line with my brother (in Brussels). She was alerted to turn on the news as he saw it come across CNN. I watched the first couple of hours groggily - but remember distinctly a disproportionate amount of attention being given by Barbara Walters on ABC to a particular television industry executive who had been lost on one of the planes that struck the WTC. Granted he was someone she knew - but at that point it was not yet clear that there were not 20,000+ casualties at the WTC site. There is an incredibly unconscious sense of value that celebrities place on other celebrities - to the degree that the other citizens (fly over country, etc.) don't matter. It comes to light in the most grotesque manner (a la Baba Wawa) and it's absolutely sickening.

The problem is Hollyweird doesn't have any directors who know how to do a war movie. The only decent one I've seen in years was Mel's We Were Soldiers.

Here's one nightmarish scenario that may have played out.
The terrorists were going to do these things in one hour intervals.
1. The first couple of planes arrive over major cities and blow up. That forces the ATC to stop all planes from landing, and to wait over the ocean.
2. While planes are circling, other planes are blown up, forcing other planes to continue circling.
3. Planes are still circling, and a third round of blowups is initiated.
4. Not only are planes destroyed which have bombs on board, but planes run out of fuel because there is no way to know which ones have bombs on board. Since the terrorists didn't hijack any of them, no one can know which ones are in danger.

I love watching Golden Age movies. Hollyweird has made a few things worth watching since the mid-Sixties, but not much. And they keep getting less creative, if that's possible. Pretty soon all that will be showing is MI45, Spiderman 64 and Batman Begins, Flies, Ends, Begins Again, Flies Again, Ends Again . . . .

If you missed Band of Brother's you really should check it out. The History Channel has been playing it all week, but I think they're up to episode 6 or 7 (Bastogne) out of ten.

I keep hearing that statement, as if over the ocean, but wouldn't they create a more devastating results if they detonated the devices just before landing?

We should have went to war over the hostages and seizing of the embassy.
Iran released the hostages when Reagan was elected because they were afraid he would do just that. They knew Carter wouldn't do anything, but they didn't want to mess with Reagan.
