Is this real, or is Haaretz wishing?
We only have history to judge by. Depending on how you look at each one, between one and three offensives have been halted in mid-stride for political reasons.
More and more, this seems to be a "take what you get and don't ask for more" kind of war.
Wait and watch and I guess we'll see what happens.
As they advance militarily, they will also advance politically. Be in better position to negotiate.
I heard Awad earlier... He might as well said they had money and all the cell phones for college... POS. They should round up CAIR.
Hope you're feeling better.
Of course they want to go home, but they won't run away.
We need to dust off the Korean War histories.
Bolton stopped at the stakeout at the UNSC. Just said they are working on it and will be reconvening at 3PM. Wouldn't answer any questions.
It's basically been a total roller-coaster morning. Early on there was a lot of hub-bub coming from the UN- Bolton saying they were VERY close to agreement and would possibly vote this afternoon. Lot of back ond forth on that..Condi arrived at the UN and had a chat with Annan...
Out of nowhere it was then reported that Olmert said no deal- and gave the go-ahead for the invasion on the ground. The fundamental issues are the ROE's for the "peacekeepers" and the relationship between THIS agreement and the original #1559- which DID call for disarming Hizballah. The sticking points seem to be around whether or not these peacekeepers would have arms, and what their actual roles would be.
Thanks Liz.
My wife and I are flying to Boise next week...hope things are settled down at the airports by then.
They were in a hurry.
"Former Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom of the Likud has stinging criticism of the ceasefire plan being formulated in the United Nations. He calls it a "disgrace" and a "historic tragedy."
