With the investigation still on-going regarding the thwarted terrorist attack on Britain-to-US flights, we've received a security travel advisory from our company. It includes a link to a Federal Transportation Safety Agency list of allowed and prohibited items on commercial flights. Not to make light of the heightened security, but I would file the TSA list under No Brainers. Heres a quick list of some of the things you CANNOT take on board a commercial airplane:
just in case you didnt know.
The barf bag industry is going to make a killing.
Not what my team members are telling me today... 3 have already reported in that they did bring their post TSA purchased sodas / water on board the plan and not one person said a thing.
You're doing it the hard way, once you have the roll of quarters, altough dollar coins are better (you have them to hand out to nieces, nephews, grandkids), all you need is an extra pair of socks. Put one inside the other, add coins, and you have a serious close range impact weapon.
Outstanding! From all of us, thanks.
"Stewardess, may I have one of those complementary eyeshades?"
The point is to try to prevent mass murder.
Take it from them and give them a Hershey Bar.
I haven't seen it addressed yet today in the media, but I'm gonna bet that once the passengers clear security, they'll be able to purchase all that good stuff (at airport prices, of course!) at one of the terminal's shops.
I don't see hand guns on the list. Rifles aren't there, what about shotguns? Machine guns?
I should point out that it happened when I was still a flight attendant for TWA. We were, IIRC, the most hi-jacked and attacked US airline before 9/11 and I/we tried to take the safety of our passengers very seriously. Before 9/11 I was a jerk, after 9/11 I was more appreciated.
I'm not taking issue with the prohibitions. I'm simply letting people know that next time they fly, they better dispose of their hand gernades before approaching the security checkpoint.
Actually, it's a partial list. Click the link. Frankly, I'm surprised at some fo the things they still allow.
Stop the insanity. Deport the Muslims, at least all males between the ages of 18 and 35, and then the rest of us could go back to living a normal--if you could call it that--life.
Don't look now, but they have already nixed those.
My Mother-in-law is headed out to San Fran on Monday and carries a bottle of filtered water with her EVERYWHERE. Checked with the airline today...no can do!
I think we're going about this the wrong way. Instead of making everyone go through a long security line, why not just issue everyone a single shot pistol as they board the plane? You have one shot, make it count.
There probably wouldn't be many people sleeping on the flight, but at least everyone would be polite.
