The British Parliament, in a rapid response to a terror plot foiled by Scotland Yard yesterday, announced formation of a study panel today to determine why some Muslims hate airplanes.
Early reports indicate 21 men have been taken into custody in connection with a plan to take down an unknown number of U.S.-bound passenger jets originating in Great Britain.
The expert panel will examine various theories about why airplanes engender such hatred among devoted followers of a peaceful religion.
Is it the horrendous noise? The speed? The condensation trails? said one unnamed source close to the panel, listing some of the areas of inquiry the experts plan to pursue. Because if its any of those things, we can get to work on engineering changes to make airplanes more tolerable to our Muslim brothers.

Movies? My guess--it's the food.

Maybe it is because men and women can sit together in an enclosed space and might talk to each other?

Americans invented the airplane. That's why they don't like them.
And before this is over, they are going to like them even less in Iran.

I know they are kidding (and it is funny to read - you can imagine an Al Gore asking "why do they hate planes?"), but the reality is, planes and airports are chokepoints, as well as major incidents get a lot of air time (no pun intended, I mean it in the literal sense of broadcast time) - because so many reporters travel by air, they tend to focus on things that may or may not affect them directly.

Exactly my first thought. I guess we're Jerks.

It flies over the skies of the US as part of Homeland Security's "Operation Noble Eagle." I do not know of any use in a war zone.
Google "F-22 Raptor" or "F/A- 22 Raptor" or maybe "Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor Air Superiority Fighter" for more information and photos. I think there are some videos on Youtube.
