Bush: U.S. 'At War With Islamic Fascists'
News Max ^ | Aug. 10, 2006 | NewsMax Staff

President Bush said Thursday that a foiled plot to blow up multiple flights between Britain and the United States shows "this nation is at war with Islamic fascists."

"This country is safer than it was prior to 9-11," Bush said from the airport tarmac here where he was appearing at events focused on the economy. "We've taken a lot of measures to protect the American people but obviously we're not completely safe. ... It is a mistake to believe there is no threat to the United States of America."

The president laid the blame for the would-be attack squarely on al-Qaida-type terrorism.

"This nation is at war with Islamic fascists who will use any means to destroy those of us who love freedom, to hurt our nation," he said, his remarks carried live on television.

Ditto. They need to stop using the term "War on Terror" because, in fact, I think we're going to have to use a lot of terror to defeat these Islamic facsists.

I happen to know we are at war. Maybe you haven't had to give anything up because our military is doing such a great job and all, but I watched my brother leave his family behind for a year to fight this war, and I was there when he came home. So yeah, it's a war. Maybe if you'd sacrificed somewhere for it you'd notice it too.

Terrorists -- now (thank goodness) being called appropriately, IslamoFascists

How do you know they aren't? And if they aren't, why don't you get out there and file a lawsuit? Would that work for ya?

Not touching your immigration lightning rod with a 10-ft. pole. I have my opnions on that subject, but I don't care to discuss them on an open forum that's known for sniping about it.

What's your answer to your own question? My answer is -- let's use the reserves from our enemies as long as we can and save our reserves for ourselves.

How od you know nothing's happening? Because the nightly news didn't report it? You didn't read it in the NYTimes? Gimme a break.

To All
If we are at war then ask for a 'Declaration of War'

Yes, we are at war.

Guns being fired, bombs going off, people being killed. Military units being deployed, body bags bringing loved ones home, soldiers rehabilitating after losing body parts, brave Americans doing long stints in often very unfriendly environments.

Some of them are actually muslims.

Good assumption. Shoot them down on the street before they can kill more Americans, Israelis, and others.

Let me know how that goes.

Your post:
That's the basic problem with the term "Islamic Fascists".
"Islamic Fundamentalists" is the most correct description. "Islamic Theocrats" also works, but is a bit more obscure.

At the core I think "Islamic Fascist" may be the more accurate description. The terrorists are not purely fundamentalist in that they concentrate as much or more on the implementation of Islam as a political philosophy as they do on a spiritual path. The theocrat statement is an element as it is in Iran but a religious based fascist regime is still a fascist regime.
Below is a cut and paste paragraph from Wikpedia:
"Fascism is also typified by totalitarian attempts to impose state control over all aspects of life: political, social, cultural, and economic. The fascist state regulates and controls (as opposed to nationalizing) the means of production. Fascism exalts the nation, state, or race as superior to the individuals, institutions, or groups composing it. Fascism uses explicit populist rhetoric; calls for a heroic mass effort to restore past greatness; and demands loyalty to a single leader, often to the point of a cult of personality."
Much of this is seen with Islam with their posters of religious leaders in front of crowds swept up in the rhetoric that exalts their religion as the only one. These terrorists seek to make the world muslim. Ruled by a caliphate as fascist as it can be. It will control the economic, political, and personal life of all.
"Fundamentalist" and "Theocrat" are accurate, but they are only parts of the whole of Islamic Fascism.
Good post though. Thank you.

"Wonderful, so link us all to the numerous condemnations by Muslim leaders to the mindless savagery of their wayward, scumbag raghead brethren, who believe it perfectly ok to blow innocent men, women and children to pieces in the name of their pedophile Deity."

As soon as you link us to all of your condemnations for every evil perpetrated by Christians.

Last I checked, conservatives held people accountable for their own actions, not the actions of others.

I don't need people to speak out against evil for me to identify the bad guys. I don't shoot non-committed people just because they don't speak out.

There is a really bad guy in your neighborhood who will slit the throats of your wife and children if you speak out, or act against him. Maybe you are brave enough to sacrifice your wife and children to speak out against his actions, but others are not, and they should not to be condemned for that.

Let's focus on the real bad guys, shall we?

I have studied it. It is a religion. An inanimate, intellectual object. The evil is perpetrated by people who subvert it, and do violence on others. Kind of like Christians used to do. When we did that, did that make Christianity a religion of hate?

Come to think of it, if as Christians we hatefully deride all muslims, then a tragic irony has occurred in the name of the Christian religion of "love."

"LOL, so your excuse for the "peaceful" ragheads not condemning their animalistic brethren is they are afraid? While here's a heads up for ya, pal. I'm afraid too, in fact I'm scared to death for my family and myself but that doesn't stop me from wanting to stand up and cut the bastards throats before they cut mine and those of my family."

Not an excuse, an explanation. Not everyone can be a lion, like you. Some people don't have the education, economic status, or intellectual wherewithall to be able to stand up to barbaric evil. And you said "wanting to stand up." If you don't stand up, for fear of losing the lives of your family, all the wanting you've done is meaningless, and according to you, makes you worthy of hate.

I'll not live like that, thanks.

http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2005/11/20051111-1.html

In this speech, he doesn't use the term in the first person, but he does use it, and doesn't naysay it's use.

He does use 'Islamic radicals', 'Islamic extremists', and 'Islamic militants.' All are true, and I feel it unnecessary to parse words at this point.

President Bush has identified the evil since 9/11. He has called them what they are since then, and has acted against them since then.

Regardless of what he might have called them.

"Mr. President, until you realize, accept and declare that we are at war with Islam, all your posturing will be for naught."

No, we are not. We are at war with evil people who use Islam as their excuse to do evil. If it wasn't Islam, it would be something else.

"This time around we're at war with a religion, spread across many nations and every one of those nations are our enemy because their religion calls for our annihilation."

Again, no we are not at war with a religion. All of the nations of the world are NOT our enemy. All of the nations of the world have muslims, including ours.

"Frankly, Mr. President, many like minded Americans question your sincerity and committment to secure our nation."

We call these people "liberals," unless you are also throwing immigration into the mix. I personally believe Bush has a firm committment to secure this nation from islo-fascists. I know I'm not alone in that, so there are many like-minded people who feel differently than what you are saying.

I dont know what is wrong with Bush but he just blows more oppurtunities to lay it on ,he always goes to these canned comments that he has said over and over again that no one listens to or even hears anymore .
Especially with the defeat of Lieberman so fresh in everyones mind ,why didnt he say ,These are the blood thirsty killers who we are supposed to negotiate with ,people who today wanted to murder innocent men, women and little children .We have representatives in this country who believe we can deal with people who commit such heinous acts

Yes, my best friend from ROTC days, with whom I share DOR, went off to topple Saddam with the 101st. And I always tell him on the phone that if the Army needs me back - call. I'm grateful for his service as I am your brother's.

Terrorists -- now (thank goodness) being called appropriately, IslamoFascists

Indeed.

How do you know they aren't? And if they aren't, why don't you get out there and file a lawsuit? Would that work for ya?

I don't have the resources, but our Govt. certainly does.

Yes, not sniping is a good thing.

What's your answer to your own question? My answer is -- let's use the reserves from our enemies as long as we can and save our reserves for ourselves.

My answer is drill at home and stop sending billion$ in petro-dollars to fund our enemies.

How od you know nothing's happening? Because the nightly news didn't report it? You didn't read it in the NYTimes? Gimme a break.

I don't read the NYTimes. And if it were happening, my friend might just call me back into service - and I'd gladly go, preferably by his side as a Jr. officer as he now outranks me. :)
