Local Muslim group plans peace rally
The Muslim Community Association of Ann Arbor and Vicinity (MCA) announced it will hold a rally and march Friday afternoon to call for an immediate ceasefire in the fighting in southern Lebanon between Israel and Hezbollah guerrillas.
The demonstration is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. at the Federal Building on Liberty Street between Fourth and Fifth avenues in Ann Arbor, according to a statement from the MCA.
The MCA will be joined by other local organizations, including the Interfaith Council for Peace and Justice and Michigan Peace Works.
"Day after day we hear the news of more deaths and suffering of innocent civilians, we see the horrific images, and we wish we could somehow contribute to bringing this war to an end,'' MCA President Samir Tout said in the statement.
I for one do not underestimate the cunning and guile of the islamists, and would hazard to guess that some two hundred and thirty years ago, shortly after the full text of the Constitution of the United States was made public knowledge to the world, it was translated into arabic and studied carefully with a great deal of interest.

Now, that the "great" Muslim army Hezbollah is on the verge of getting trounced and losing Lebanon, they want a peace rally. Too convenient, too little, too late.

Islamic Peace Rally Agenda: a 3 1/2 hour harangue by a wall-eyed Imam followed by executions of a half-dozen `tainted' women, an `honor killing', chanting of "Death to the Great Satan!" in a Death Parade (to Chucky Cheese) then spontaneous demonstrations against the Little Satan, Israel.
And face-painting & balloons. No Mexican flags, no no, but bring the kids! (A `99 Geo Metro will be raffled off.)
They did have lots of rallies and riots in the spring of 2002.
Against Israel, naturally.
All that hyperbolic grief over a mythical massacre in Jenin, and not a tear for the Israelis dead in the hotel bombing that preceded it.
They must think we have short memories over here. They keep using the same tactics over and over again, as if they were new.

Just a ploy to have an anti-Israel rally. You can book it they will be chanting "death to Israel" and " Death to Bush".
If they had to get a permit for this gathering and they listed it as a peace rally yet it actually is an anti-Israeli rally, then they should all be arrested for hate crimes...that or carpet bombed.
I suppose wishing for all Muslims to either convert or commit suicide as a means to bringing the war to an end has not occurred to them.
