WH Press Briefing Ping
If you want on, or off, the Tony Snow/WHPB ping list, please FReepMail dinasour
Just a gaggle today. It seems the President is headed to Wisconsin. There is no loss of material to discuss today. I hope they didn't confiscate Helen's hair spray.

Q No plans to go back to Washington because of this? MR. SNOW: No.
Why does this always seem to come up? What about instant communications do these dopes not understand?

Rodney Dangerfield's mother-in-laws would ask better questions than these. Dealing with the DC press Corp must be like playing cards with Chimpanzees

Q How long is this red alert going to be in effect? Did John Kerry get a seat at the gaggle?

Q How concerned was the President upon hearing all this in his briefing? These press guys are geniuses, aren't they...

Q Can I ask on a different topic? Can you clarify the Karl Rove call to Joe Lieberman and what that was all about? MR. SNOW: It was a personal call. Yes, as I sent you -- in fact, I may get Karl back here, if you're interested. Q Yes. MR. SNOW: It's probably best to let him describe, because he was in on the call. But this was not a call after the polls closed; it was not a political offer; it was not a political conversation. It was a personal conversation. And, you know, he's expressed some willingness to do it, so maybe I'll just grab him -- yank his tie and make him come back here. Q That would be great. LIBS: "The Rovian plot to undermine the Senate must be stopped!!!"

Well, nothing original in the questioning by the press. They always amaze me at how their tone never changes, and they can never "get" that GW has every communication available to him in Crawford...just like Clintoon did when he was hob-nobbing with the rich and famous on Cape Cod.
They're idiots. Tony has the patience of a saint! :D

Stoooopid reporters - product of lieberal school of jerknalism. Requirements: be dumb to believe global warming and other "disasters", learn to spell few words, use copy programs and photoshop, wait for the "news" to be served, if there is no news, make up something. Oh, and Bush is baaad, baaaad, .....
If it wasn't so tragic, it is amusing to listen to some of the news conferences, dumbells asking "inquiring" questions...

I was listening to the Chertoff press conference this morning and I hate to admit it but some of the questions asked were great. I am so used to stupid "journalist" asking inane questions that I was taken aback at some intelligent and timely questions.

dina, thank you so much for these threads.
Tony is magnificent in this job, but we did catch a clip of him yesterday, and I thought he looked really weary. Hope his health is holding up - the job has GOT to be incredibly stressful, albeit rewarding that he is performing a valuable service, not only to President Bush, but to our country.
