Dearbornistan terror arrests:
Flight docs and 600+ tracphones

Busted (hat tip: Paul):

Two men were charged Wednesday with money laundering in support of terrorism after authorities said they found airplane passenger lists and information on airport security checkpoints in their car.

Deputies stopped Osama Sabhi Abulhassan, 20, and Ali Houssaiky, 20, both of Dearborn, Mich., on a traffic violation Tuesday and found the flight documents along with $11,000 cash and 12 phones in their car, Washington County Sheriff Larry Mincks said.

It wasn't clear what significance the airline information might have. Assistant County Prosecutor Susan Vessels declined to comment on whether the manifests were for upcoming flights or those that already flown. She also would not give the origin or destination of the flight or flights.

FBI spokesman Mike Brooks in Cincinnati said his office was notified about the arrests and had an agent investigating.

Abulhassan and Houssaiky admitted buying about 600 phones in recent months at stores in southeast Ohio, said sheriff's Maj. John Winstanley. They sold the phones to someone in Dearborn, a Detroit suburb, Winstanley said.

Vessels declined to say how the phones, cash or flight information involved terrorism.

Investigators going through the car after the pair were pulled over in Marietta also found a map that showed locations of Wal-Mart stores from Ohio through Kentucky, Tennessee and into North and South Carolina, Vessels said.

Flashback: Wal-mart, cellphones, suspected terrorism. Ring a bell? It should. Remember this from January:

Federal agents have launched an investigation into a surge in the purchase of large quantities of disposable cell phones by individuals from the Middle East and Pakistan, ABC News has learned.

The phones -- which do not require purchasers to sign a contract or have a credit card -- have many legitimate uses, and are popular with people who have bad credit or for use as emergency phones tucked away in glove compartments or tackle boxes. But since they can be difficult or impossible to track, law enforcement officials say the phones are widely used by criminal gangs and terrorists.

...Law enforcement officials say the phones were used to detonate the bombs terrorists used in the Madrid train attacks in March 2004.

...The FBI is closely monitoring the potentially dangerous development, which came to light following recent large-quantity purchases in California and Texas, officials confirmed.

In one New Year's Eve transaction at a Target store in Hemet, Calif., 150 disposable tracfones were purchased. Suspicious store employees notified police, who called in the FBI, law enforcement sources said.

In an earlier incident, at a Wal-mart store in Midland, Texas, on December 18, six individuals attempted to buy about 60 of the phones until store clerks became suspicious and notified the police. A Wal-mart spokesperson confirmed the incident.

I freely admit that I am extremely uneasy about those guys being on the loose. I know they represent just a handful of the muslims who have gone AWOL in our country, but I just have a really bad feeling about them.

Re: cell phones.

Some of you may remember the post last week about a large cell phone purchase from WalMart in Spearfish, SD., on Aug. 3 or 4. It seems that cell phones were not the only thing. They were also buying, or attempting to purchase, those electronically ignited (non-electric) curling irons that use the little disposable butane cannisters. Electronic spark + flammable liquid = ??????????

It is becoming an increasingly unavoidable fact that we are in a clash of civilizations with these people, and we simply cannot allow them to live among us.

The next step would simply be for Muslims to deny they are Muslims. Then what?

==...I can no longer hold to my former position of tolerance towards Muslims. It is becoming an increasingly unavoidable fact that we are in a clash of civilizations with these people...==

I wonder if pols will ever wake up to that fact. Mark Steyn has lots to say about our attitudes:

"...Bomb us, and we agonize over the “root causes” (that is, what we did wrong)."

"...Decapitate us, and our politicians rush to the nearest mosque to declare that ‘Islam is a religion of peace’".

"...Issue bloodcurdling calls at Friday prayers to kill all the Jews and infidels, and we fret that it may cause a backlash against Muslims.

"...the more the Islamists step on our toes, the more we waltz them gaily around the room..."

Another said, "...We know the nature and goals of our enemy well. Our army is at the ready and in the field. And yet we hesitate..."

Then we have the loons. Drop by DU and read the logic of the air plot just exposed. Mental illness at its best.

"Lutherans sure have funny names."

I didn't know there were 11 Serbs that were Lutheran!
(going with Hollywood's morphing of Islamic terrorists into Serbs)

I only wish the date was 9/10/2001 and we were watching Mohammed Atta get frog-marched into some dungeon instead.

Amen to that. Or that we had been wiser than to elect Bill Clinton who did nothing to stop Al Qaeda as it grew more feroius and emboldened on his watch, largely because of his inaction and his refusal to get Bin Laden up to a dozen times acording to liberal Gerald Posner and Richard Minitier's recent books.

I don't know if Bush 41 or Dole would have been any better than Clinton, but I have a hard time believing they wouldn't have done a little more after the 1993 WTC attack, the Ryihad Barracks bombing in 1995, the African embassy bombings in 1998 and the USS Cole bombing in 2001, not to mention about another 8 attempted attacks by Al Qaeda on US targets in the 1990s including the failed attempt to blow up LAX in 2000. I have to think men who served in the military like Bush 41 and Dole would have had enough understanding of the need to deal with threats to America's security that they wouldn't have just let those attacks slide like Clinton did.

Oh well, I guess all we can do is play the hand that was dealt us by America's short-sightedness in dealing with one of the biggest do nothing, incompetent presidents in US history, Bill Clinton.

Actually, I think it may very well be possible. It would be draconian but it would send the signal to these maniacal savages that we won't tolerate this behavior any longer. Just keep them out entirely. The hell with political correctness.

OK, I did some digging and as a coincidence, here is what Michele Malkin had to say about him...

"-And before the anti-profiling absolutists start using Gadahn as their new poster boy, note that the FBI says he was just one member of a Khalid Sheikh Mohammed-hatched plot to blow up gas stations in the Baltimore area. The lead conspirator in the plot was Pakistani Majid Khan --a relative of convicted Pakistani al Qaeda operative Iyman Faris--who was sentenced last fall for his role in plotting to sabotage the Brooklyn bridge. Also reportedly tasked on the Baltimore bomb plot was Pakistani Uzair Paracha, charged last summer with aiding al Qaeda operatives seeking entry into the U.S."

So, for every one of these "OC boys", there are thousands of the stereotypical ones trying to kill us. Why wouldn't we start with the ones who make up the vast majority?

The last years of being forced to "embrace diversity" will be the end of our civilization. I was thinking we'd go out with a wimper due to the incrementalism factor, but now I expect it'll actually be with a bang.

Round 'em up and ship them to the native lands -- even if American born. If their loyalties lie with any country but America they need to go away.

It is becoming an increasingly unavoidable fact that we are in a clash of civilizations with these people, and we simply cannot allow them to live among us.

Can a country that practices religious tolerance tolerate a religion that doesn't tolerate other religions? No. At the very least, we should halt immigration from Mohammedan countries.

Lord have mercy!! I fear one of these days they will succeed no matter what we do.

Eventually passengers will have to eliminate everything except themselves to fly including their shoes. Maybe they could come up with airline disposable clothing to wear onboard.

OR maybe we could throw all the scum out and not allow them to come here in the first place using phoney visas or student visas or across the border!!!!!!

ALL muslims to remian in Pakistan or other arab countires. OK... far fetched but something has to be done about these radical idiots. We have to stop playing patty cake with them.

FDR had the right idea in rounding up the Japanese.

Indeed. Those of us who were around back then can tell you that interning the Japanese was supported by the overwhelming majority of the American people -- albeit that revisionist histroy, crafted by those with a liberal ax to grind, would have you believe otherwise.

"I am Not A Lawyer but I believe that a Congressional "Declaration of War is what would be necessary because what we have to do here requires that the Constitution be in abeyance and that is what that Declaration is for and why I have argued against it to those who think we should use it for every little Grenada thing we get involved in. I am only just now coming to believe that War should be congressionally Declared in the prosecuton of the Islamic War."

I've been arguing just this point since 9/11/01. Declare war and then do whatever is required. Those who want to board the anti-terrorist train should get on board. The rest should be considered enemies.
