An Israeli soldier avoids dust as a military helicopter prepares to land on the Israel-Lebanon border August 9, 2006 to evacuate troops injured in fighting in southern Lebanon.
Air raid sirens....Israel pulls back and there's air raid sirens???
Sheperd Smith is perplexed that 2AM he's witnessing sirens and incoming strikes.
It's coming for you, Shep.
Just sent you a response.
((((You too)))) Thanks! I'm really just numb I think. I've never had a fight with a FReeper- I would hate that.
BTW- check THIS out if you want your BP to REALLY skyrocket:

Brian Williams of NBC compares Army Rangers and Navy Seals to terrorists...
That is the sound of Ohlmert bending over and planting the French surrender flag
>>Air raid sirens
Yes, he really does look like a fool in that getup.
He should have had that helmet on when that chopper tried to land on his head last night.
RIGHT this second...Sheppy is standing there in a flak jacket and a really dumb looking helmet...and the air raid sirens are going off...
I don't think the Hezzies have gotten the message that the Israelis have surrendered.
Earlier, when his show started, I just wanted to cry....they showed the soldiers walking back toward the border from INSIDE Lebanon...and you could tell by the way they were walking that they were dejected...their shoulders where slumped.
It was so sickening..and your post just is about that...this is just NOT DONE!!!
I wonder if Olmert will care that as his young soldiers are slumping back home...the Hezzies are still launching Kaytushas...?????
Remember when this first started...and Sheppy kept talking about 2000...and how the Israelis left Lebanon "with their tails between their legs"...and how mad we all got????
Can you imagine what the soldiers feel like right now???
That's true, there probably are. Hanging from the booms of cranes, along with Baha'i's, Zoroastrians, and 16-year-old girls who have been raped by married men then sentenced to death for "adultery" and "immoral activity".
one of those kaytushas needs to get close enough to scare the ever living crap out of Shep, maybe it would knock some sense into him
I'm willing to give him a break on the helmet. There's no reason to be stupid. The rockets re real. I'd keep it on all the time if I was there.
NO...and that is one reason I argued with them....if I had known them to be reasonable in the past..or even remembered them, I might have kept my fingers shut..
But...they were just spouting with no proof of what they said.
That actually occurred to me too!
That is touching... and very sad.
AJ? Ahmadinejad is in a position to be magnanimous. So far, he has won. He has the Arab world and all the leftists on his side. Unless something happens otherwise, he has won the first battle of this war and he is now king of the world.
Hezbollah already HAD Lebanon. They really haven't gained much. I doubt if the Lebanese public and Govt will support their continuing adventures now that they've seen what the cost is. If anything, their brief redeployment north of the Litani and the insertion of an int'l force will be more of a hassle than the status quo ante was.
Hezbollah fired off their best shot, they killed 40 or so civilians, lost half their arsenal, suffered 500+ dead and many more wounded, gave up their fiefdom in S. Lebanon, brought further int'l forces in, got 1000+ Lebanese civialians killed, caused 3B+ in damages to Lebanon, and other than giving Israel a bloody lip, didn't really achieve anything.
However, it is also clear that the current Israeli govt is unwilling to take significant losses in battle and is very timid. All of us who wanted to see the IDF go in and wipe out Hezbollah and take out Assad were dreaming. It was clearly never seriously on the table. The IDF will no doubt learn from their experiences over the past month and will be better for it.
Ironically, Hezbollah may have acted too soon. Now that they have shown Olmert, Peretz and Kadima/Labor to be the cowards they are, the govt will undoubtedly soon fall in a no confidence vote and the Likud will retake power.
Olmert's West Bank/Jerusalem surrender plan is finished, a major positive for Israel.
In the long run, I think this will end up having positive consequences for Israel.
