Olmert is the one who betrays Israel. The electorate was warned and they chose him over Bibi. They gave him Peretz as a partner.

John Loftus: AA Flt 109 -- called back to Heathrow two hours out. Family of five (mother, kids), Kurdish, on watch list (but missed) had liquid bomb components, thought to have been a dry run.

I expect they went after them before they were ready. Like maybe they were afraid it was going to be exposed(leakers).

I can't disagree with any of the comments directed at your question. But I spent a lot of time today thinking about living with terrorist threats. Quite honestly, I can't remember a time in my life when I haven't lived under the threat of terrorism in one form or another. Cuban Missile Crisis, Cold War, Hezbollah, Iranian terrorists, hijackings (back in the good old days when they used to just hijack a plane to another country,) race riots and so on. I'm not trying to sound like some depresso here, but that's the truth on one level or another. And giving up some of our freedoms? So did the Greatest Generation. They'll tell you of pulling night shades and doing blackouts in case the Japanese were going to attack the coasts, gas and food rationing - all to fight the enemy. Obviously our threat is greater, our sacrifices are greater and I'm not minimizing what's been taken away from us one bit. What I'm trying to say is this is not new to us as a country of freedom loving people.

Hi, I wasn't ignoring your post...I was just reading the thread to see if anyone else answered your question.

As far as the ME is concerned...there is a lot of confusion over what IS happening.

There have been bulletins about how the Israelis are pulling troops out of Lebanon in preparation of accepting the UN resolution.

At the same time, the Lebanese and the Hezzies are saying NO WAY to the resolution.

Here on the thread, those of us that were on...were livid that the Israelis seem to be surrendering.

The Russians came out asking for a 72 hour truce for Humanitarian reasons...LOL

Then this evening bombs were falling in Beirut.

So...now we are all either sniping at each other out of frustration..or we are discussing the finer points of peeps.

Not to toot my own horn, but i've been pointing out since day one the treasonous activities of Olmert's own offspring.

Here's more info on another location of air strike:

"They said Israeli planes struck the area of Balenat al-Hissa, near Lebanon's northern border with Syria."

Interesting

Loftus essentially repeating Newsmax story. Batchelor saying this was poorly planned, clumsy, sloppy. Loftus disagrees saying it was good detective/intelligence work. And, BTW, says go onto websites and learn how to make these bombs -- info is wrong, almost certain to blow yourself up!

Here's an interesting question - liquids and gels are now banned from carry-ons, but apparently the terrorists were also going to use flash cameras to detonate with- have cameras also been banned?

Israel may pay the consequences of his indecision with additional destruction.

Banned Kurd on flight sent back by US agents

By Stewart Tendler

A FLIGHT to the United States was ordered to turn back over the Atlantic by American security agents because a Kurdish passenger was named on a no-fly list, US officials said yesterday.

After the American Airlines flight touched down at Heathrow, the man, his mother and his two sisters were questioned by Special Branch officers then released without charge.

Yesterday, as American Airlines completed arrangements for the other 236 passengers to reach the United States, police said that the man was not wanted in Britain and of “no interest” to counterterrorist officers.

He was flying to Boston on Monday on Flight 109, a Boeing 777 with 240 passengers and 13 crew, but two hours into the flight the captain was told to go back.

Darrin Kayser, a spokesman for the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA), said yesterday: “Early in the flight TSA learnt that a passenger on board was on the no-fly list. TSA determined that the best course of action was to turn the flight around.” He said that American Airlines and air traffic control were in regular communication with the flight and “there were no reports of unusual activity”.

Yesterday neither the airline nor the transport authority would discuss the reasons behind the decision.
