Bingo. There is so much to all of this that we don't know.
The dems talk about bad intelligence that Bush got... we're getting ours from Shep, for heaven's sake! lol
Watching and listening to President Bush, Michael Chertoff, Rudi, Tony Snow and other men of wisdom and honor today reminds me that we're just like the group of blind men describing an elephant, and all we're able to feel is on toenail.
I only got to watch a few minutes of Obsession the other night, and now my link is dead, but the little I saw showed how vast this network of haters is. The response to that network in defense of the West must be carefully constructed and executed.
We're not going to defeat Islamofascism with skirmishes here and there. Israel can't take on Hezballah and have that fight remain in the geographical confines of southern Lebanon.
We are truly looking at a world war, with many fronts, many genrals, many unidentifiable enemies. Many months are needed for preparation and execution, not a few hot summer months.
And I guarantee you that Sheperd Smith will be nowhere near the front lines, nor privy to final plans or timetables.
We are truly armchair generals, and while I think we all mean well, getting ourselves in a lather here is not going to contribute to the effort in a meaningful way. I think Krodg is right, the best thing we can do is pray, and keep the planners, the fighters, and those who will lose loved ones in the battles in our hearts and thoughts.
We need to stay informed, so we can write, call, and vote effectively, but we needn't sacrifice our health, our sanity, or our families' day-to-day lives to our adrenalin spikes.
Forgive me for sounding preachy, I'm half way writing this down so I can reread it in the morning and remind myself to keep some perspective, no matter what may be the next steps. :-)
