What the author of this condescending (and anti-American) piece fails to mention is that Ahmadinejad has recently made public statements about "lighting up the sky" on August 22nd. You can take that with a grain of salt if you like. :^)

However, news reports out of the Middle East indicate the "Islamic Street" is taking Ahmadinejad's statement quite seriously, even if The Guardian is not: Many are looking foward to this date with bated breath....

I'd love to know where this author's assurance that Tehran doesn't have nukes yet comes from. What's his source on that? Unfortunately, he doesn't say....

Anyhoot, I wouldn't be at all surprised if some sort of "fireworks" -- not necessarily nuclear -- takes place on this date. Stay tuned.
