AR Wildlife Officers Demoted For Illegal Hunting

The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission says two Arkansas wildlife officers have been demoted for illegal hunting turkeys without a license in Tennessee.
Game and Fish Director Scott Henderson said that Major Jerry D."Chuck" Woodson, assistant chief of enforcement for the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, and Wade Spence were demoted.
Spence, a six-year game and fish veteran, was named Wildlife Officer of the Year in 2003 by the National Wild Turkey Federation.
The illegal hunting reportedly happened in April, but it wasn't reported until July 12th.
Woodson was demoted to a corporal, was given a field assignment in Logan County, and his pay was cut 8 percent. Spence was suspended without pay for 20 days and was put on probation for a year.
No charges or citations have been filed; Henderson says the two were disciplined because the hunting violated the commission's ethical standards
Ping
This is pretty much typical behavior for bunny cops.
"They should have been fired..."
Probably someone's brother in law.
something got dropped. I tried to say this is a rules are for thee, not for me alert.
Who reported it? How do you catch a game warden who is illegally hunting? Is there an internal audit function that sneaks up on game wardens to see what they are doing?
On another note,I was with him while watching for poachers shooting from the road.We had set up a fake deer in a field and were watching from about a half mile away.Sure enough,a truck slows down to look. The truck goes by and turns around. Then it stops on a bridge. We could see smoke out the window and then heard the report. He had shot across the opposing lane of traffic.Upon driving up on him,we found out it was my aunts brother. His brother in law.He gave him a ticket, just as he would anyone else.
These guys do have a dangerous job.A Police officer "may" encounter someone with a weapon.A CO almost always does.
7-Day Hunt-Small Game/Waterfowl (Type 072) __________$50.50
Annual All Game (Type 073) __________ $251.00
Unbelievable. Circled the wagons 'round these two but good, didn't they?
Fired? They should have been prosecuted! Here in VA poaching costs you your gun, truck, and RKBA.
I'm not sure who reported it, the article didn't say. But I'd sure like to know. I'd like to know who they were hunting with in Tennessee and where.
I am in eastern Tennessee.
That is so funny...Gov't workers getting fired!.....LMAO
i live in VA ... what's RKBA?
RKBA = Right to Keep and Bear Arms
