If it bodes well for the GOP, why are you calling it a tragedy? Just because a tragedy didn't happen to me personally doesn't mean it didn't happen. |
The only way that Joe will drop out is if he drops dead, and with the evil Democrats who could count that out?
The "progressive left" is deeply anti-semitic. All you have to do it read Zsa Zsa Huffington's daily rants, or the posts at DU or Kos, to know that Joe's religion played a large role in his defeat.
Yep...I totally agree. And, I never liked Lieberman anyway because I have always thought him a phony. Not riding or turning lights on or off during the Jewish Sabbath was a big deal for him when he wore his piety on his sleeve, yet supporting late term abortion (infanticide) was not a contradiction for such a religious man. Bullfeathers.
This will be a good opportunity for everyone to see the lock the two parties have on our current system. Joe, win-lose-or-draw, is going to be discouraged at every turn by the laws, by the fundraisers, and by those in his own party. He'll be used by the opposition and smeared by his opponents. He'll have two or three (dozen??) political knives in his back before this is all over. I wish we had longer memories so we could learn, reflect, and remember the lessons before us. Good luck Joe.
They are over there fussing about Lieberman running as an indy, and posting this pic:
Ha!
"I've seen this before, back in 1968. The radical left drove Johnson from office. They rejected old-line liberal Hubert Humphrey as being too tied to "the establishment"... and they inadvertently helped elect Richard Nixon, because the "SDS/Black Panther/Revolution Now" faction of the Democrats drove every sane person in the country away from their party."
Remember the margin of victory??
The Democratic Party will thrive quite nicely without Joe Lieberman. Maxine Waters and other hard working Americans are the backbone of our party.
Then you don't agree with the people here who often say when a "true conservative" loses to a RINO in the primary, he should continue to run (as an idependent, write-in, or whatever). There have been several cases I have seen where the "true conservative" continues to run and brings down both him and the RINO and lets the Demoncrat get in. You would say to the "true conservative" that he/she should accept the primary vote and accept his/her loss and step down. Right?
I don't know what I was hoping--Lieberman is one of the few leftish Senators who is pro-Israel.
and Lamont is a Soros candidate. Now the "progressives" know a few things I wish they didn't know...
1) Being pro-Israel is a liability, at least among Dems. (Probably among liberal GOPers, too). Soros knows that he can sell a candidate who won't support Israel.
2) That the best target is any Democrat in a leftist state who even marginally supports the WOT.
These are not good things for them to know.
But will it thrive if those voters who support people like Lieberman are driven out of your party?
Maxine Waters and other hard working Americans are the backbone of our party.
I'm not going to touch your characterization of Waters, but let's just look at that "backbone" comment for a bit. Yes, the left wing of your party is its core constituency, but you can't win national elections with just that core constituency. You have to appeal to voters closer to the center if you want to win. If your party starts booting out those who are more in the middle, like Lieberman, those votes are going to go Republican.
I'm completely fine with that, obviously, but I can't figure out why you are.
Yes it did
And this is a message that every Jew in America should pay attention to
The Democrat party love your vote and your money but they do not love you
.7% of the popular vote, 301 to 191 electoral college.
I just love the MSM. If this were a Republican, Lauer would be fluffing the guy to run as an independent.
Why would you not vote for the Republican ? Is he that bad ? I know nothing about him, but why would Republicans vote for Lieberman if a viable Republican is running ? Lieberman is very socially liberal, supports big government, supports illegal immigration amnesty, and his only saving grace is he believes in a strong military.
I don't get it.
I hear you loud and clear and can agree with it to a point. But, as I understand it, Lieberman supports amnesty for illegals and open borders. Why do we then care if he supports the war on terrorism abroad if he's going to let the Muzzies and multiculturalists in by the back door to bring a third world lifestyle and radical mosques here.
Either way, if we don't get conservatism winning at the political level, we're toast in 20 years.
There is no grace in turning over a Senate seat to a lunatic. This is not about politics but National Security.
How many times have we criticized the Party of Treason for putting party about Nation? Now Lieberman is doing the opposite and you complain?
He may be getting mugged by liberalism, just like Juan Williams.
