I have a natural dislike and disrespect for folks who change their political affiliations. My favorite statesman of my lifetime, Ronald Reagan, changed his political affiliation.
Sometimes, the party really does leave the person.

AH. So you can be AGAINST someone from a different state, but not supportive. Huh.
In any case, I will not be directly financially supporting Lieberman because we have a big enough job in my state getting Cantwell tossed and that is my job, while the Lieberman issue is for the voters of Connecticut to decide. We agree there.
That said, I find your responses intriguing since my original post to you was regarding whether the man was a sore loser or not. My bottom line is that this move is not indicative of poor sportsmanship, but rather a decision to stick to his values.
It would have been cheaper and easier for him to simply bow to his constituents and go all out anti-Iraq-pull-them-out-now if it was just about the job. It appears he chose the hard way based on principle. Or, from your perspective the hard way because....he wants his job which makes little logical sense to me, but you may be right.
In any case, no harm no foul. We just start from different perspectives on this one.

You are certainly correct and I agree with your assessment and opinion of RR.
I'm inclined to think that with RR, he came to understand that the Republican party was more representative of his values than the dims. Remember Reagans early years, as SAG president and spending time in Hollywood, a traditional liberal/democratic bastion.

I'm just annoyed by the whole thing. The guy was a complete jerk in 2000. Worse than a jerk. He was party to a corrupt enterprise to fix an election. That corrupt enterprise had lasting damaging effects on our nation. It helped drive the moonbats to their present state of moonbattiness. He was supposed to be a reasoned statesman, but instead he was a co-conspirator in an ignoble, dangerous enterprise. It undermined the faith of our people in our election system, it undermined our president's ability to assume office, and it encouraged the moonbats to go completely off the charts, which is what has led to the extreme Bush-hating that has undermined the war on terror ever since. So don't tell me Joe's on our side. He guessed wrong and now he's paying for it. Good riddance.

Why does any conservative care about this?
Lieberman will be elected as an independent.
He will then stay in the Senate as a member of the Democrat Caucus.
Other than making few Moon-bat Democrats happy, the primary meant nothing.

Perhaps he could. But his only value is if he sits "on the republican side" of the aisle, so to speak.
I must admit that all of this still stuns me. How far to the fringe the Demoncrats go... Well, good riddance.

I'm just annoyed by the whole thing. LOL. No. You're kidding. I couldn't tell. ; )
I completely understand while at the same time disagreeing, but only slightly.
With that I'm off to watch some tv. I hope you have a terrific evening/night.

They already admit terrorists and crackheads. They seek them out. They admit corpses. It doesn't matter. As long as the 'Rats can finagle a vote out of the corpse/crackhead/terrorist name or the use of their name, and maybe a buck or two, credentials don't matter.

The most significant aspect of the CT primary tonight is that sticking to one's principles in the face of adversity is not a valued characteristic in the eyes of 'Rats.

"Remember how loyal he was to Gore, even to the point of compromising on some of his long-held positions, and not declaring in 2004 until Gore definitively bowed out?"
I remember how Gore paid him back by endorsing Dean and not even giving him a heads up in advance. Total lack of class on Gores part.

There is an in-between. It is called Independent. Jeffords is an independent. Bernie Sanders is an independent. Both caucus with the Dems, which makes them essentially dems when it comes to voting on who is in charge of the Senate and the House.

My profound sympathies to Lieberman, that his own party pushed him aside like yesterday's dirtAgreed. For simply voting to protect Americans from terrorism. What's that say about the left in this country?
