UNITED NATIONS — The French-American alliance at the United Nations over a Mideast cease-fire agreement is crumbling, sources tell FOX News.

The French U.N. delegation has joined with Arab nations and is now calling for a complete and immediate Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon as a condition of any cease-fire, the sources said.

In addition, the French have reportedly agreed with Arab demands that the Lebanese force be accompanied only by UNIFIL, with no international force to be deployed.

Viva La France!

I just wish they'ed wash their finger before putting it in the air......

History repeating itself. And we thought.......?

We came to the plate. We negotiated. Aside from Daisy Cutters, what else could we do?

The ramifications of this excursion is staggering.

You and pissant are right on. I have been saying this all along. The Pres is playing the game and in the meantime giving time for Israel to beat on the Hezbo's. By the way we are supplying some of the sticks. Hehehehe.

This is good news (presuming we don't go along and veto any proposed French-Arab resolution).

Another backstabbing by the Frogs. Ho-hum. That makes how many in the last 400 years or so? Of course the result is that the war will go on, and possibly (hopefully, IMHO) spread to Syria.

Of course the Frogs don't care that this betrayal/surrender will have a predictable effect exactly opposite their stated intentions. French intentions are NEVER as stated. The stated intentions are always high-minded. (Read "insufferably smug".) The actual motivations (extension of French influence and contracts for French companies, usually at the expense of slaughter, enslavement or oppression of the locals) are invariably base.

Better than the French would be a Muslim nation that has a viable military. Turkey is one such example. The Turks do have a good military and they could be expected to be a neutral player. Probably more-so than the French who use to be a colonial power in this region and to this day have vested interests. While the Turks are now silent, I am sure sufficient funds for this peacekeeping mission would energize them.

"Good! Then Israel can keep on kicking hezzie a$$, until they are all gone."

Yeh, right! They can't win a war with all of the leftists in their government. They don't want to win; just hurt their citizens and get killed themselves. What fools!

Israel does not remember the Six Day War, too bad....

People often think a Muslim nation would be better. However, if you pay attention they don't want that, because it would be like being conquered by a neighbor. They were all under Turkish domination for 400 yeaars of hte Ottoman empire and would not welcome return of the Turks.

I know what it was, the French ran out of white material and they couldn't give each Frenchman his own individual white surrender flag! That's got to be it.

We should just stop showing up at the UN. No money, no announcements...and no presence.

Let 'em do what they will, without us.

I wonder how long it would take the world to figure out we're not playing in that sandbox anymore?

"Really, an international force, unable to stop Hezbollah would be the worst of all worlds for a ceasefire. It would simply prevent Isreal from doing anything about the attacks."

The way I see it Israel may have to trash Lebanon every few years to keep Hezbollah in check but hey... that's Lebanon's problem.

"I was wondering how long it was going to take Ze French to raise ZE WHITE FLAG. That was even quicker than their normal one week before surrendering. :) "

About as long as it took the frogs to stab Colin Powell in the back.

This is funny as hell after ALL the media was crowing about how this was going to go somewhere.

Who here believed one word out of their stupid and/or lying mouths? I mean other than the nitwits always salivating and ready to attack Bush at the drop of a Treason Media byline?

The salutary benefit of the French taking the side of the terrorists is that now they're pretty much sure of losing.
