A men's synchronized swim team has been barred from a meet at Stanford University, reinforcing an International Olympics Committee decision designating the sport as women-only.
The San Francisco Tsunami Swim Club's team was set to perform an exhibition at the Federation Internationale de Natation World Masters Championships.
But the international governing body that oversees the meet scuttled the plans.
The synchro team has competed at national competitions, the Gay Games and the International Gay and Lesbian Aquatics Championships.
San Francisco Tsunami describes itself on its Web site as a gay and lesbian aquatics team that is open to all.
"I don't swim well."
LOL.
And, in the middle of one of their formations, a huge blob of semen bubbles up into the center of the pool.
Brucie yells out "Ok, which one of you guys farted???"
"I'm not that strong a swimmer..."
LOL. At least he could touch the bottom with the ball of his foot.
Hijacking the thread for just a moment, do you remember a sketch that year where Rich Hall used the automatic floor mats to create shoes that opened doors...and took out his boss played by Jim Belushi? Still makes me laugh.
There were some truly brilliant sketches that year because it better to look good than to feel good. Of course.
Sorry, don't remember that one. Sounds like a good excuse to watch SNL reruns though.
Or men-only gyms/fitness clubs.
Maybe they should attend water games in the Cayman Islands.
You cannot make this stuff up! I mean come on, Gay Synchronized Swim Team... That joke writes itself! And did I read right, its an issue in... San Fancisco?
Is it their fault they were born with male parts? I did not know Standford was so bigoted.
Because if they were white christians no one would care if they were discriminated against.
Now tell me you don't want to see these guys perform?
That is entirely more information than I need to see.
Couldn't they have just stuck at ice-skating??
I understand that terminology. Is there something about gay men that also inhibit their understanding of basic language?
