U.S. Senators call on Bush to support Serbia

WASHINGTON DC -- 25 U.S. Senators are asking that the U.S. president supports the democratically elected Serbian government.

The letter argues that Serbia’s role is of vital importance for the future of South-Eastern Europe and America’s regional interests and that Belgrade has grown into a strong U.S. regional partner.

“In order to help transform Serbia, the U.S. should support the reforms in the military and the security sectors, encourage cooperation with the Serbian Army and enabling its officers to attend military colleges and courses in the U.S.”, the letter said.

The Senators remind that it is Serbia’s strategic goal to join the European and the Euro-Atlantic community and state that the Serbian government has once again expressed its strong dedication to the regional stability when it accepted the democratic will of Montenegro to become independent. “However, extremist groups in Kosovo are attempting to pressure Serbia in a way that would lead to destabilization. Serbian authorities are asking that we do not withdraw our support at this vital moment. NATO led KFOR must stay in Kosovo until it is clear that the government there can provide security for all citizens”, the U.S. Senators said in their letter.

“We strongly urge you to support President Boris Tadić and the democratically elected Serbian government”, the letter concludes.

I highly doubt the quality of his ARNG unit of the early 90's as it is indicative of him as a person, poor quality. Being a 11Bravo does not mean squat as anyone can get through Bennings AIT (yeah, I know what that MOS is like and have done the same thing doing my Active Duty Marine Corps time. The boorish behavior demonstrative from him to those that disagree with him is a fine example. He brings the scourge onto himself, mark.

I reckon that day will come when Kosovo is granted its independence.

*******This is now in question. You just maybe will see a change of direction. Watch the news.

there is no good work he is doing. The lies about Kosovo WILL NOT go unpublished or undocumented. There is much effort in truthful and honest writers and researchers to spread the truth that was convoluted back in 1989....WE WILL SEE TO IT!!!!!

Your references aren't special, as a matter of fact they are outdated and OBE......Yet you ignore the references by those who were actually there and played signficant roles....then follow with personal insults, hoping that the receiver responds in a way that you can cry to mods to get them banned...so you can brag about it....lolol...:)

Anyway, your avoidance of truth reminds me of a joke I heard. The kitty cat is you, the truth is the dog......BTW...do you studder by chance?????

A teacher is explaining biology to her 4th grade students. "Human beings are the only animals that stutter", she says.

A little girl raises her hand. "I had a kitty-cat who stuttered", she volunteered.

The teacher, knowing how precious some of these stories could become, asked the girl to describe the incident.

"Well", she began, "I was in the back yard with my kitty and the rottweiler who lives next door got a running start and before we knew it, he jumped over the fence into our yard!

"That must've been scary", said the teacher.

"It sure was", said the little girl. "My kitty went 'Fffff, Fffff, Fffff'... And before he could say "F*#K," the rottweiler ate him!"

that is right on, Skipper. When one feels inadequate, they lash out with insults. Who instigates the insults, hoplite of course.

Why does he not ever reply in kind to my posts? Simple (he will do the same to you eventually), I was there and he can't bring himself to admit my honesty and integrity, which he sorely lacks.

What is the number one thing that is taught in being a Marine NCO and Officer? Integrity, because without it, you are nothing. Army 11Bravo didn't teach him that, or...lolol he didn't make Sgt, but was stuck at Specialist.. btw, I should hopefully pick up my Staff Sgt in before the end of this year.

im not promoted yet...i still have to put in my packet for the board but evreyone in my chain is pushing hard for it. Each time they pushed a promotion, it went through succesfully... Besides, I'm SFC/E7 material as well but due to my break in service, that hinders me and doesn't count for sht...lol

Yeah, when i get back next spring, i'll be up in your neck of the woods then we will grab a beer/s.

*sniff *sniff, cry me a river.

Since Hoplite has denigrated and questioned the service of others here who have also served, who gives a rat's ass about his supposed service? You two bozos need to go get a private room so that you can go pinch each others' asses and figure out a way to reconcile your failures as men.

As ma bell pointed, he has absolutely no integrity.

I had 'em pegged as a couple of guys who'd go for a reacharound long ago.

Yet we, under Clinton, killed over three thousand Serbs for no reason, most of them women and children. I find this horrifying.

P.S. Hoplite was mamber of Greek light infantry. Citizen-soldier was something in Roman Empire

Kronos, I know English is your second language, but "hoplite" is a Greek word, so no excuses for being wrong again:

As it says here "For hundreds of years, warfare in Classical Greece was dominated by the hoplite, or heavy infantryman. These were generally citizen-soldiers ..." and here "Warfare in Ancient Greece centered mainly around heavy infantrymen called hoplites ... These were a citizen-militia ..."

And William Jeferson Clinton was supreme commander of US army, but complete idiot and islamofascist loving scum... And in both casess he outranks Hoplite and Markie Boy.

Wrong yet again. Clinton lost his commander in chief status in January 2001 and doesn't outrank anybody. In fact, he is currently outranked by my son in Basic Training; as well as by about 500,000 other great American soldiers.

By the way, Clinton has not been responsible for Balkans policy for the past 5+ years. Associating the policy you oppose with someone who is generally despised perhaps makes your argument emotionally attractive, but it has little to do with the facts on the ground or who is currently running the show.

Yet we, under Clinton, killed over three thousand Serbs for no reason, most of them women and children. I find this horrifying.

Gentlemen, the Former Republic of Yugoslavia Ministry of Foreign Affairs publication "NATO Crimes in Yugoslavia" came up with 495 deaths. The decidedly unfriendly-to-America Human Rights Watch did a study and came up with 488-527 bombing deaths; closely corresponding to Belgrade's 495. Go to para 53.

Of note, about half of those approximately 500 civilian casualties were in Kosovo, most of whom were the Kosovar Albanian refugees attacked by mistake in the Korisa Woods and in the Djakovica road incidents. So the actual number of civilian casualties of Serbian ethnicity was somewhere under 300.

It is a shame about any of the civilian casualties, but fortunately for most of Serbia, our Air Force, Marine, and Navy pilots who flew 14,000+ strike sorties were careful in target selection and precise in their aim.

I just returned from Afghanistan where, after every airstrike, the Taliban would claim all sorts of civilian casualties. Investigation would invariably reveal the casualties as either non-existent or exaggerated. The victimization ploy in order to discredit your opponent and gain international sympathy is exactly what Hezbollah is doing in Lebanon today and the Serbs have continued concerning Kosovo.

Interesting why you're still SO silent about the ABiH being trained by VEVAK? After all, you got so upset when some Serb farmer started selling blueberries to some Iranian business. You positively blew a gasket, poor soul.

Yet, a dozen years on, and you've yet to get hot under the collar over Iranian military intelligence camping out in the Balkans.

And no mention on the Bosnians introducing Dhimmi law into the heart of Europe. Both you and Hoplite think nothing of laws that favour our humble PEADO WORSHIPPERS.

Don't tell me you've fallen under the spell of the great and wise Hoplite? A noble and wise sage is he , where the word of a lunatic ( ERDEMOVIC )is believed, and where lazy neverwozzer academics ( DOCTOR BALL ) are treated with the same reverence as the great Greek philosophers?

Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum indeed.

But the eternal question remains , who's Dee and who's Dum?

Uh, maybe because this was about Kosovo, not Bosnia.

But since you brought it up, it is useful to note that the Bosnian military is supporting us in Iraq. And it's not VEVAK, but NATO "camping out" and training the Bosnian Army.

Not to mention still hunting down indicted war criminals such as Serbian torturer and rapist Dragan Zelenovic, shown in the photo below a couple months ago being taken to the Hague by U.S. troops and aircraft from the NATO element in Sarajevo.

Serbia and Republika Srpska have charged and tried more suspected war criminals than Croatia, Bosnia and the UN-occupied Kosovo put together.

Consider the Scorpions case, for example. It was dealt with swiftly by Serbia, even though the unit had nothing to do with Serbia in the first place. Let's see how the Croatian side deals with its own Black Mambas and the Muslims with their Hamzas death squad.
