I'm looking for advice from anyone here who's worked for Halliburton. I'm thinking about applying for a job in Afghanistan doing Information Technology work.
This is a civilian position, and does not require security clearance. I don't have any military background but I have never been in trouble, I'm 26 and am in good physical shape.
Can anyone tell me about the length of these contracts, how much they pay, what the work is like, basically any information? I did some research and didn't find much.
I've been on FR since about 2000 and this is the first vanity I've posted so please be nice! Thanks in advance.

Look them up on google and try their homepage. It should have links for employment.

I can't be a total help but I am in the business similar as Halliburton in the seismic field although they are more oil services -- pipeline etc.
I have worked contract in this business and usually you get a 3 month contract and then extended to 6 months. The pay for contract is usually much higher than salary and being in Afghanistan it should be even higher.
I would expect close to 6 figures or more.

First you must pledge allegiance to Satan.
Then be admitted into Dick Cheney's secret cabal of evil-doers. I believe that requires you to kill at least 2 minorities.
And finally, you have to get some really cool sunglasses and a black suit.

That link is all I have, it answers none of my questions. Thanks for your time though! Do you have any idea how long the contracts last or how much they pay?

There is a Freeper currently in Iraq working for Halliburton. She often posts on the Friday Silliness thread. Will check her screen-name later.....
