It was a wonderful trip. He also invited a friend to go with him. It was an experience they have never forgotten.

Yep, don't care for travel much anymore. My wife wants to do lots of it when we both finally retire, but I'm not so sure, especially nowadays. Just as soon stay at home, go to Apple Hill or Wine Country or something like that, lol.
Libya must've been amazing. Was your dad stationed there? Or were you vacationing? When did the last western military base in Libya shut down anyway?

Welcome to the Canteen, warsaw44....it is sad to see a favorite place go downhill.

Dad was stationed there from '61-'63 or so. From what I remember, we shut down Wheelus AFB sometime in the mid-60s.
Hey, great meeting and chatting...but it's time to call it a night.
Welcome to the Canteen, feel free to drop in again. I've been told they love to make vets feel at home here!
See everyone tomorrow.

Ok..
Fried chicken and a salad with just lettuce and and black olives coming up!
Choice of salad dressings are:
Bacon Ranch
Blue cheese
Dorothy Lynch
Italian
or Ms B's home made Balsamic Vinegrette!
Hey!
You like lettuce?
I thought you hated green stuff!

Hiya, Kathy! Thanks. US Army, most of it in the 4th Armored Division. Ancient history, lol. I don't even think the 4th exists anymore.
To: MeekMom
re: 88 Wow! Sounds good! That's quite a combination! It's the best! When we have company, the kids always have to drag everyone for the best pizza ever! People who hate saurkraut usually end up getting hooked. I've tried to make it and have had it a couple of other places, but Happy Joe's in Galesburg, IL is the best!
To: MS.BEHAVIN
Lettuce is good.....iceberg, and Romaine is ok, too. Bacon Ranch sounds perfect. Suppose I could get a hard boiled egg for my salad? But don't be sneaking other "green" things.
Don't be messing with the twinges...let it rest!
