US President George W. Bush will make a statement from his Texas ranch tomorrow on efforts to end the Middle East crisis, the White House announced today.
Mr Bush will speak from his Prairie Chapel property, accompanied by US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, who has been at the ranch since yesterday for talks on ending fighting between Israel and Hezbollah.
The US president was expected to urge the UN Security Council to adopt a French-American resolution, unveiled yesterday, aimed at ending the conflict and paving the way to a lasting peace.
However, Lebanon's parliament speaker Nabih Berri has already said his country rejects the draft resolution because it would let Israeli forces stay on Lebanese soil.
Mr Berri, a Shiite politician who has been the main channel between Hezbollah and Prime Minister Fouad Siniora, said the draft ignored the Beirut government's seven-point plan calling for a ceasefire, the withdrawal of Israeli forces and the return of all displaced civilians among other things.

Israel only has one alternative: crush the terrorists.
I hope the President will back that.

I doubt it, but there is always hope.

"...adopt a

All the more reason to defeat it. Suicide incarnate.

How can he lose the keys to something he's never used? And doesn't care to take advantage of, either. But when he talks, good things happen---his ratings rise, and our enemies grind their teeth.

Bush and Rice. They just don't get it. They get it. They know the deal will fall through.
Meanwhile, Israel continues to kill terrorists.
And no one can say we didn't try.

I'm wondering if they have the ability to "crush" them. I'd like to think so.

Not only do Bush and Rice get it, but the French and the Israelis get it, too. So do the Saudis. The Lebanese Shi'a are being punished for treating with the Persian imperialists. The rest of the Arab League are reminding the Lebanese that there is a reason it's called the
Arab League. They're merely using the IDF to be the enforcers. Had the Hezboallah been smart and gone to the
Saudis and the
Egyptians for money and weapons, it would have been a different story. They are
Arabs. But the Hezzies are Shi'a
Arabs, and betrayed the rest of the Arab League by treating with the Persian invader.
There's no love lost for the Jews, but the Israelis come in handy sometimes. At the end, reparations to the Lebanese will be paid to let bygones be bygones.
They want the Persians out. Once the Israelis have done the Arabs' dirty work, the Israelis will go home, and the French, who have wonderful relations with the Arab League states, will come in. So will the Turk, but you sometimes have to take the bitter with the sweet.
It doesn't matter whether Najih Berri or Hezzy Wezzy accept it or not. This just gives the IDF more time to grind on to the Litani River and raid more targets in the Bekaa. Meantime, Iran's position weakens as the Hezzies are chopped up by increasing pressure from the Zahal infantry. Hezzies are good, but they are playing the IDF's game.
Be Seeing You,
Chris
