Hezbollah rockets kill 12 in Israel
By JOSEPH PANOSSIAN, Associated Press Writer

BEIRUT, Lebanon - Hezbollah guerrillas unleashed their deadliest barrage of rockets yet into northern Israel, killing at least 12 people...as fighting only intensified despite a draft U.N. cease-fire resolution.
Hezbollah and its allies rejected the draft resolution, saying its terms for a halt in fighting do not address Lebanon's demands in a signal that the nearly 4-week-old battle will burn on.
Hezbollah fired a barrage of rockets late Sunday on the port city of Haifa, injuring dozens of people, in the heaviest attack on Israel's third largest city since fighting began.
News reports said one person was killed, and emergency services said more than 30 people were injured. A Haifa fire department spokeman said one crowded residential district suffered five or six hits and there were many casualties.
Hezbollah fired a volley of 80 rockets at several other Israeli towns. One of them made a direct hit on a crowd of people at the entrance of the communal farm of Kfar Giladi, killing 11 people, rescue workers said. [One of the critically wounded died later, bringing the death toll to 12.]
In this image made available by the Israeli Defence Force August 5, Israeli soldiers are seen planting their national flag on a small hill in neighboring Lebanon.
And I will appoint a place for My people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in their own place, and be disquieted no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more. 2 Samuel Chapter 7-10
Hi Ms.B. It's just past 3:30pm here in Los Angeles. I had CNN on briefly a short while ago and caught the news that Hezbollah has sent rockets into Haifa, theiri first night attack. Seems Hezbollah is trying to ratchet up the ante.
A couple of freepers have freepmailed me so I'm pleased they're going to show such visible support for Israel. Just to be clear, both the pendants I've ordered have a cross in the middle of the Star of David. I'd feel uncomfortable going to church without the cross in the star, I think.
Thank you for the thread and for the pictures on the Dose, too, Wolfstar.
Yes, it sure is. Israel needs to unleash hell on those people because it's the only thing those people understand. I still believe we should have nuked Mecca in September 2001. What's the point of having nukes if all you do with them is sit around waiting for your enemies to acquire them?
You're welcome, Peach.
Re wearing the Star of David with the cross: Don't remember if I told you about the time a few years ago (pre 9/11/01) that my car was overheating. I pulled into a local gas station in Gardena, CA. Turns out the attendant was an Arab. Before he worked on my car, he asked me if I was Jewish. I'm not, and in my typical American brash way, I said no. Then asked what difference it made.
I wish I had a Star of David then, because I'd have waved it in that SOB's face. :)
You hadn't ever told me that story; I almost have no words for how ticked off that makes me. I'll wear my necklace proudly and hope I tick off an Arab on your behalf.
We had dinner at a friend's house last night and they refuse to frequent gas stations or convenience stores run by Arabs now. They didn't do this after 9/11, but after this latest conflict in the ME, they're done.
Hello Wolstar..
(love your screen name BTW)
I've just returned from an outing..
I'll snap on the news now..
It is 6:50 pm here in Maine..
Ms.B
I suspect many people are quietly doing the same. That gas station I mentioned is out of business. I find I have a great deal of inner hostility these days toward Arabic appearing people working in stores I frequent. Recently, I needed something at a Home Depot and was directed to the guy who handled that aisle. I'm certain he was an Arab. Got the impression he was working hard just answering a question from a woman. Blech!
I've had similar experience in the last year or so. And I remember after 9/11 I went out of my way to make sure I smiled and was friendly to Arabs because I didn't want to lump them all together. But since so few of them seem to be trying these days, I guess that was all for naught.
But then we went to a restaurant 2 weeks ago and the sweetest Arab guy saw us approaching the door and rushed to open it for us, greeted us and was just lovely.
It's hard not to paint with a broad brush, but I guess we have to remember that not all Arabs are Islamofacists. In fact, not all are followers of Islam.
Their time is coming. Count on it. It won't be pretty, there will be much wailing and knashing of teeth in the "World Community", but they'll be severely messed up nonetheless.
More or less true, but these guys were together as a unit, not just wandering around. They had already been called up. They were attending an outdoor briefing according to reports.
They also ignored the air raid sirens and did not take cover. Sort of the "Washing Machine Charlie" syndrome, there had been sirens about every hour at that location. They ignored the wrong warning.
"...one by one and man to man Arabs are the salt of the earth generous, hospitable, brave, wise, and so forth. But get you in a pack, and shove a Koran down your pants, and you act like a footlocker full of glue-sniffing civet cats.

Right. And things will only keep on getting worse for Israel until that time.
In the Bible, a generation is usually defined as 40 years.
1948 + 40 = very soon!
Israel, America, Great Britain & the other allied forces combating the jihadist enemy in various nations under attack, must further unite and counter this Islamic barbarianism by taking the war directly to Tehran and Damascus.
Lord, comfort the survivors, grant peace to the dead, strengthen the leaders and the people, send St. Michael the Archangel and the angelic armies to fight for Israel. Lord, enable the IDF to fight like King David. Lord, see. Lord, remember Your Promises, for You said Israel is the Apple of Your Eye. Confound their enemies (who are also Your enemies) and bring confusion upon them. Vindicate Your Name as You said You would. Let an overflowing amount of Your Goodness and Loving-Kindness be upon Israel and her people.
Amen.
I have a Star of David coming to me tomorrow. It is white gold and will be on my necklace with my cross. I saw the Star of David with a cross in the middle that said interfaith. I didn't know what it meant, so I didn't get it.
Alouette gave me a link to her online store (I first asked if there was anything wrong with wearing the Star since I was a Christian, but wanting to show support for Israel, she said it was fine), but she didn't quite have what I was looking for, since I was trying to match my cross, and was looking for a specific size, etc. She did have some beautiful things, check with her for the link, if you are interested.
I've got two star of david necklaces coming to me; both have the Christian cross inside the star.
After reading about what this stands for, I felt comfortable ordering the items but think it's perfectly appropriate to do it your way too.
I'm practically tapping my foot every day waiting for the mail to arrive. LOL
Neither Israel nor the President pays attention to polls.

How does your friend determine whether these people are actually Arab? And then how does he determine if they are Muslim or not? He could be helping put a good Christian out of business. All the Lebonese I know here are Catholic and solid citizens.
