"They can kiss my ass."
That really made me laugh! Straight talking and common sense seem to go together.

Never one to back down, Parish President Henry "Junior" Rodriguez has a simple reply: "They can kiss my ass." Isn't he a (D)?
If so, he's needs to re-read the (D) memos.
But good for him!

Crude, and yet eloquent.
The memorial is being built by volunteers, using no public money and on private land.
The ACLU's agenda is showing again.
To: Ellesu
Good. Let the ACLU go after this parish. It will show the world what monsters they are.

My mother's family is from there. I visited there recently. The devastation is unbelievable. There's a beautiful park that's next to the St. Bernard Civic Center. It's now housing wall-to-wall FEMA trailers (I dubbed it Femaville).
They're not in the mood to have some ACLU-type prancing around about crosses. They'd be reminded about real problems the people are facing (and are slowly resolving). There's still plenty of trash to shove down their throats. I'd especially recommend they not mess with Junior.

the American Civil Liberties Union of Louisiana is reminding parish officials of the Constitution's separation of church and stateHow do you "remind" someone of something that doesn't, in fact, exist?
To: Ellesu
(by Karen Turni Bazile); Louisiana ACLU Executive Director Joe Cook said that the government promotion of a patently religious symbol ... is a violation of the Constitution's First Amendment, which prohibits government from advancing a religion.
Come again?
Either Karen Bazile is a dope or Joe Cook is a liar - okay maybe both are true. As we know neither the Constitution nor the 1st Amendment say anything about "advancing a religion". Maybe some moonbat atheist Klintoon Federal judge muttered such nonsense at one time while high on crack, but that's irrelevant)
I also wonder which "religion" Jesus 'advances'. Baptists? Lutherans? Mennonites? Roman Catholics? Episcopalians? Protestants? The Amish maybe?
(I'm gonna have to look into this "Jesus Religion".)

neutral memorial?
Perhaps a "kiss my ass aclu" memorial that LITERALLY adopts the phrase?

In a July 28 letter to Rodriguez and other officials, Louisiana ACLU Executive Director Joe Cook said that the government promotion of a patently religious symbol No government promotion, it's a private effort

Yes a public waterway..one held in trust by the government for the People
-----
is a violation of the Constitution's First Amendment,
Yes, the federal government, not the national one.

which prohibits government from advancing a religion.
No... ESTABLISHING a religion. Quite a different concept than promoting or acknowledging our Christian heritage.
-----
BTW - Why isn't the ACLU screaming about the fact that Louisiana has PARISHES instead of counties??

LOL! I guess he knew the reply "Nuts" was taken.
(for the kids, that's what the surrounded Americans said in

the parish is researching who owns the landIf it turns out the land is government property, then sell it to a private party for one dollar. And if the ACLU can't come up with a photograph proving what Jesus looked like, then they obviously don't know that it is in fact "a likeness of the face of Jesus". Tell Mister Cook it is a likeness of the face of Karl Marx and he'll go back to his office feeling all warm and fuzzy inside.

The ACLU will be hard pressed to produce witnesses that will attest that this is actually the face of Jesus.

There is one good thing about the "good 'ol boys" of the South - they don't take crap - from anyone. Not even the ACLU. The ACLU should think twice before they "interfere" in certain areas, lol.
