Thanks Wolfstar, I appreciate that very much. You're welcome, CA. As someone who had zero time with my mom 'cause she couldn't be bothered to stick around a raise me, I can sure relate to your disappointment in not having more time with your mom. Every moment is precious and unrecoverable. Cry for her, CA. At least she gave you the chance to know and love her, and for that alone, she deserves your tears.
But don't forget that the one thing that never dies is love. She'll be waiting for you in the fullness of time.

We just had dinner with friends who feel exactly the same way about the President as we do and I came away feeling so upbeat after talking about him this evening and then to find this fine thread -- it's really capped off our evening. Thank you. You're most welcome, Peach. You know the "backstory" of why I did this thread, so I'm especially pleased you like it. :)

Hi kiddo....I have to tell you that I just put Brandon to bed after we had a good time looking at the Dose....needless to say he loved the Santa Claus pics...lolHi mystery. What fun to imagine you and Brandon looking at all these photos of other kids and our wonderful GWB and Laura. Makes me happy to know he went to bed with these loving images fresh in his mind -- especial the Christmas pics. Christmas in August for a wonderful little boy. Most satisfying. :)

Your experience was similar in fact to my mine with my grandmother (nan).
For about 2 or 3 years I could not remember her any other way than how she had been at the end but then gradually I started to remember how she was.
Somehow with mum I started remembering her how she was very quickly after she died I think because she had not been at home for the last 18 months whereas nan died at home.

It has been a very warm summer so far apart from the last 7 or 8 days today was in the 70s so warm enough to be in teeshirts early part of the day.
My job title is Product Manager - Cold Weld. I work for an engineering company in the Sales Department and my job is to quote, process orders and ship the goods worldwide. I also do the more complicated shipping for the Company's other products.

We can never have enough Doses with Dubya and kids. Your top picture with the little black boy is just adorable. Unlike some politicians, Dubya isn't obsessed with flashing a big toothy grin at everything that resembles a camera. You can tell by the way he looks at people that he's thinking about them.
I love this pic from last week when he visited the young entepreneurs at the lemonade stand.

The typical situation of wanting something that others have.
Even down to the BBQ which is borrowed from Australia and the US, the UK way to cook food outside was either a camp fire or calor gas burners with camping saucepans.

I noticed the BBQ, a very American looking scene. Is there a trend in England to create gardens with a Japanese look to them also?

When I go out to Google images to search for photos of GWB, sometimes I have to wade through Leftist hate. I've come across a few nasty sites that use some kind of psychobabble to twist GWB's penchant for touching bald heads. So whenever I see a photo like the one you posted, I'm amused, because he's so clearly teasing and having fun.

I think this was my favorite lemonade stand photo. Dubya has that slightly playful expression on his face. He must have been in an impish mood because he called the press camera dogs.
I think it's a toss up whether that was the best part or the part where he pretended to forget how many glasses he bought and paid for three extra.

And who doesn't love a little cueball head on these little guys?

Exactly...grin. That's a cute photo. Dubya and babies and dogs. Doesn't get any better.
