A grassroots pro-military group is organizing a counter to the efforts of Cindy Sheehan, the polarizing icon of the anti-war movement whose son, Casey, was killed in Iraq. The group, "American Pride," is led by Leonard Wahl, who also lost a son in the war. American Pride is petitioning people to come to Crawford, Texas between August 14 and 22 -- part of a period when Sheehan and her followers are expected to launch "Camp Casey III." Crawford, the home of President Bush's ranch, was the site of a stalemate of sorts last August when Sheehan declared she wasn't leaving until the president met with her in person. President Bush never met her and ultimately she moved on.
The story didn't end there, however, as Sheehan took steps to remain in the limelight. Most recently she purchased land in Crawford upon which she intends to stage her "Camp Casey III" event. Sheehan's "Crawford Peace House" website indicates the dates for the event are August 6 to September 3. The site is requesting volunteers, in-kind donations, and financial contributions to make the protest "a safe, comfortable and effective action."
American Pride hopes to mute Sheehan's message. "We are urging every veteran to join the fallen families to support our troops," Wahl wrote in an email to Military.com. "This is our way to confront Cindy Sheehan. Soldiers did not pick this war. We cannot allow America to fail its soldiers as it did in Vietnam."
Hope they treat the public roadway in front of sheeeeeehan's new Crawford property with as much respect as she treated it near Bush's property.

There was an earlier post that says President Bush is not going to Crawford this year. Must be a blow to Cindy knowing she can't stalk the President this summer.

I took a short sojourn to California, and even being a daughter of Texas did not save me when I got back.

I am sure the reason he only took 10 days is because of the he** he caught last year for actually taking a vacation. He does learn! Too bad for Cindy, I hope she has a nice summer in Crawford sweating in the heat(kind of revolting to think about her sweating and stinking isn't it?).

Texans will freeze her out. She will be made to feel VERY unwelcome. I only spent a few years in California, and when I got back my little home town of Pecos, I found they no longer trusted me. Being in California caused them to treat me differently it is not a nice feeling.
I guess you have to know small Texas towns to know what I REALLY mean
Cindy was left alone on her other trips because she was transient. If she overstays a Texas welcome (and as a liberal she will)Cindy will be treated like she had the plague..Cindy won't like that,Cindy needs to be the in the limelight as an honored guest.

Mmmmmm...I would say that maybe your experience was unique.
I live just outside a very small Texas town and I am not from here, from another state, and people have been very good to me.
My neighbors on both sides are good neighbors. Always a bale of hay to lend if I run out and I reciprocate. I am ready to run people into the bigger town if they need a ride to the doctor, etc.
Maybe people just have different experiences. I hope Cindy gets the freeze-out, though, and my guess is she will.
Who's organizing the get-together and when?
There's lots going on we are not privy too that's up and coming....middle east is way to hot with Israel killing another group of terrorist...could we be getting set to help out in several other countries in the middle east??? OR Now that's he's got a new staff...Josh replacing Card and Tony Snow replacing what's his name...maybe it's new/different advise....
