Gaubatz claimed the administration does not want to find out the truth because it could jeopardize the Republican Party. I fail to see how.

As you said, that statement makes zero sense at all. If the administration knows about WMD, it would go a long way to ensuring that Democrats are kept out of power for decades.

Harris poll comes out saying that over 50% of Americans NOW believe Iraq had WMD when we attacked. MSM response? Find someone to agree but have them say "WE KNEW" they were there and did nothing because we are incompetent.
See, it's ALL Bush's fault.

By failing to find the WMD's, they allowed them to return to the hands of those wishing harm on the US forces. By not ferretting out these weapons, the reason we went into Iraq, was to SAVE us from these weapons, the Republicans lose if the weapons surface in the hands of "insurgents". The argument switches from "Bush lied" to Bush was incompetent from start to finish. Which if this story holds water, would be probably true.

"All they ever asked is that we, the U.S. government, inspect the sites they were risking their lives to show us," Gaubatz said. "They had heard President Bush say Saddam Hussein had WMD, and they wanted to help America. Now they are dead and the sites remain unsearched."
Truely sad...if not criminal

Just sent email to certain member of the armed services committee asking that they push an investigation of these potential WMD sites.

Dems will say Bush was careless and let WMD's slip away into the hands of terrorists.

The reason he is alluding to must be that the US sold the WMD's to the Iraqui regime even when we knew we should not, or the chemicals can be traced to American companies. Also the WMD's may be traced to an "Ally" of the US.
Who knows???
This issue has been screwed up so bad that there has to be something else going on behind the scenes..
