Rob Schneider Denounces Mel Gibson

In a full page ad in Thursday's Variety, an entertainment industry trade paper, the actor says, "I, Rob Schneider, a 1/2 Jew, pledge from this day forward to never work with Mel Gibson, actor-director-producer and anti-Semite."

Comedic actor Rob Schneider denounced fellow actor Mel Gibson in a letter, saying that he would never work with the Academy Award winner.

"I, Rob Schneider, a 1/2 Jew, pledge from this day forward to never work with Mel Gibson, actor-director-producer and anti-Semite," said the letter, which bore Schneider's signature.

The declaration was published as a full page ad in Thursday's Variety, an entertainment industry trade paper, E! Online reported Friday.

The untold joke of the letter is that Schneider and Gibson have never worked together before, with Schneider making comedies like 'Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo' and Gibson making epics like 'Braveheart,' and 'The Passion of the Christ.'

Still, Schneider stopped any chance of collaboration with Gibson who reputedly railed against Jews during a drunken driving arrest July 28 in California.

I think this is typical Schneider humour...

Yep. He's sort of running interference for Mel, if you think about it. Any other Hollywood type who subsequently denounces Gibson (particularly other Jews) will be seen as standing alongside Schneider. Did Rob Reiner and Babs have chance to weigh in on this yet, or did Schneider catch 'em napping?

... Weinstein, Speilberg...the names tell the tale. It's not like he declared a jihad on them, he just pointed out the VERY obvious to anyone who's been around Hollywood more than a few months.

I don't know who is Weinstein. Speilberg strikes me as being sort of a self-hating Jew. Perhaps that goes with the territory when you ar a liberal. You have to start by hating yourself.

"I, Rob Schneider, a 1/2 Jew, pledge from this day forward to never work, if I ever get another acting job, with Mel Gibson, actor-director-producer and anti-Semite."

He has really said this?

I think Schneider sees the humor in what he says and is making a joke and getting some publicity for it.

You might be right.

Well, I added the "if I ever get another acting job" part...but yes to the rest.

You could have selected this passage :)

"I, Rob Schneider, a 1/2 Jew, pledge from this day forward to never work"

This guy, Schneider is a true American. He has done more with the USO than most of us.

Good observation. And the ad itself in Variety is humorous! I mean, c'mon! The lead role in Passion of the Christ 2? LOL!

Maybe Schneider realizes that this will eventually blow over and is hoping Mel will reward his "friends."

You are right. When the big Hollywood luminaries like Spielberg, Howard, Hanks, etc. "Join Rob Schneider in their boycott of Mel Gibson" it is going to look like a joke!
