Democrats abandon Israel: Joseph Farah outlines proof of party's neutrality
WorldNetDaily.com ^ | Saturday, August 5, 2006 | Joseph Farah

This may sound funny coming from me.

Because I don't think it makes much difference whether we vote Democratic or Republican.

Their rhetoric may be a little different, but their actions are not.

However, I was struck by the results of an L.A. Times poll on Americans' views about the conflict in Lebanon published yesterday.

This was the way the Times reporters wrote the story: "Most Americans consider Israel's bombing campaign in Lebanon justified, but they are divided about what role the United States should play in the crisis and how closely the nation should align itself with the Jewish state, a Los Angeles Times/Bloomberg poll has found."

But I see a much different story in the raw statistics – a much more shocking story, one rife with political significance.

Here's the real story: The Democratic Party, which has owned the Jewish vote for as long as anyone can remember, has abandoned Israel and, if this poll is right, fails to see much moral difference between the Jewish state and the terrorist organization Hezbollah.

Let's look at the numbers.

The poll finds 59 percent of Americans think Israel's actions are justified.

But only 49 percent of Democrats do – and nearly half of those consider Israel's actions excessively harsh.

By nearly a 2-to-1 ratio, however, Republicans believe Israel's actions are justified.

It gets worse. Listen to this.

Overall, 50 percent said the U.S. should continue to align with Israel, while 44 percent backed a more neutral position. But Democrats supported neutrality 54 percent to 39 percent. Republicans supported alignment with Israel by a margin of 64 percent to 29 percent.

Imagine that. Democrats are conflicted about who is right between Israel and Hezbollah. They can't see right and wrong between these stark contrasts. That's because, as I've pointed out many times, they can't see right and wrong on any issue. Period. End of story.

But why did the Times ignore the most stunning news of all from its poll? My guess is that the Democratic Party partisans who run the paper and write the stories don't really want the public to know the truth about their constituency.

Can anyone give me one reason a Jew would continue to vote Democratic in light of this stunning information about the direction of the party's grass-roots?

It doesn't surprise me that the leftist elite of the party long ago decided to take an even-handed approach between the Jewish state, fighting for its survival amid a sea of anti-Semitic hostility and violence, and the terrorist Jew-haters. But I do find it a little surprising that this position is held by a growing contingent of Democratic party voters.

Personally, I don't think Republicans or Democrats truly get it when it comes to the Mideast. The last U.S. president who comprehended Israel's value as an ally against Islamo-fascism was President Reagan.

But there is a marked difference between the way Republican voters see the conflict and the way Democratic voters see it.

Let's face it. If it wasn't for the evangelical component within the Republican Party, U.S. politicians probably would have sold Israel down the river already. As it stands, we're getting closer all the time.

Democrats are ready to jump ship by a significant margin. They strongly favor a position of neutrality between right and wrong, good and evil.

As for me, I continue to believe there is no middle ground between good and evil, there is no compromise with wrong.

Totally concur. Any person of Jewish heritage that votes for a Democrat party politician is selling their heritage down the river. The Far Left needs as much sunlight as possible put on it but the media will continue to keep the real agendas in the dark until its too late.

There's no such thing as "neutrality." You cannot be indifferent between good and evil and if you really think you cannot side with good, then in effect you're choosing to aid and abet evil. That's why Dante assigned to Hell those who never took a stand in their lives. You cannot be neutral between God and His enemies.

In the Arab League nations there are more than three hundred million mostly Jew-hating Arab Muslims.

In Israel there are about five million Jews, mostly surrounded by the above.

300 million versus 5 million. WOULD SOMEBODY PLEASE DO THE FREAKING MATH!!?

(Sorry to have to raise my voice) ;^)

My ex has become a rabid Democratic club activist in the largely Jewish Boca Raton retirement community Century city. This is an issue there. He expresses frustration at Israel voters. Maybe that is Orthodox who already voted Republican. Lots of American Jews are secular and irreligious, though.

Btw, Israelis say George Bush is the best friend Israel ever had. Apologies to those who deify Reagan.

This are interesting stats. I am sure they will be headlines in every paper.

This SHOULD have an impact on 06. If it does not, can you say Speaker Pelosi? And, since the Speaker is right behind the VP in the line of succession, you might even have to say PRESIDENT PELOSI. That is really scary!

Good article except for this statement. How can he say that President Bush does not understand Israel's role in the fight against militant Islam? I loved President Reagan, but even he contributed to the emboldening of the terrorists by pulling the Marines out of Lebanon following the Beirut bombing in 1983.

Democrats aren't neutral on their definition of good and bad - just God's defintion of good and bad.

And "neutral" is putting it nicely. Democrats actually not only wholeheartedly reject God's definition of good and evil, but work relentlessly to enshrine their own notions of good and evil into law while eliminating God's definitions of good and evil from any kind of rules that people are expected to follow.

Oh, to be a fly on the wall in democratic voter/Jewish homes. Israel's fight for existence and American Jewish stupidity compares in a way with the moment that liner loaded with European/German Jewish refugees arrived in NY harbor in the '41 -- before we entered the war -- only to be turned away by FDR. (A stripe of shame the US bears to this day.) Well, that wouldn't happen today, and we're not about to abandon Israel. It would be ironic and terrible if American Jews turned their backs on Israel by continuing to blindly vote D.

I would still bet the majority of Jews in this country will still back the democrats in the up coming elections of 06 and 08 . I just don't get it , and I'm sure they don't have a clue who is really on Israels side when they are being attacked by a group of idiots who call for the total destruction of the Jews and Israel . WAKE UP !!!

Sure. Many Jews see Israel the same way the democRATS see the USA; evil, and guilty of every wrong in the world.

The Jews, have a great number of coward traitors; just like we do

See the irony here? The evangelicals are the standard reason given for why Jews don't vote Republican. The notion being that evangelicals are anti-semitic. An idea repeated ad nauseum by the Democratic party.

My daughter married into a family of Brooklyn Jews. They are all happy to call themselves secular humanists. One christmas the kids had everyone do a computer quiz to find a designation. I resisted taking it, saying I knew how it would come out. Finally I agreed, under pressure. but a sister-in-law married to an ed professor was horrified to meet anyone who was a RC. Never happened before in her life.

Okay.
The Jews' God Elohim Exists. I give him a value of one.
The various islamic factions" God Allah Does not. Value equals zero.
1 > 0
The military value of the humans is less than the value of gods. Israel wins, unless they anger the god who protects them.
Let's support the winning team.

I forgot, The left hates all those rules the god of the Jews gave to protect them from the pains of this world. So they have to do whatever twist of mind it requires to avoid the evidence that the God of the Jews is real. Even if it kills them (politically in elections or physically from venereal diseases.
