Summary of IDF operations against Hizbullah in Lebanon 3 Aug 2006
(Communicated by IDF Spokesman)
Over the past day, IDF infantry, armored and engineering forces operated in southern Lebanon. The forces positioned themselves in the areas of Mis el Jabal, Mahibab Blida, Shihin, Rajmil and Majdal Zun, in the eastern part of southern Lebanon. At the same time, IDF forces established positions in the villages of Al Teibeh, Al Adeisa, Rab A-Tiltin, Aita a-Shaab and Maroun A-Ras and Bint Jbeil.
Yesterday evening an IDF soldier was killed and four more were wounded in exchanges of fire in the village of Aita A-Shaab. An IDF soldier was severely wounded and two soldiers were lightly wounded in the village of Mahbib.
In fighting throughout the day, IDF forces killed approximately 35 armed Hizbullah terrorists, and wounded numerous other Hizbullah terrorists.
In the area of Bint Jbeil, IDF forces identified and destroyed a vehicle carrying a Hizbullah missile launcher. Additional weapons were discovered by the force, including 10 assault rifles in the area around the village of Sheihin.
During the night the IDF carried out more than 120 aerial attacks in Lebanon:
6 missile launchers, including launchers used for long-range attacks against Afula and Haifa.
35 Hizbullah buildings, storage facilities and headquarters
Areas used to launch rocket into Israel, and roads and bridges leading to those areas.
A vehicle identified transporting weapons.
Yeah....!!! I'd give my left kazazaa to work on a project like that! Wish I were younger.
Israel has no intention of occupying Lebanon. They have told us this a number of times. What is going on is that they have finished preparing the battle field. They have cut off all supply routes, retreat and reinforcement routes. They have cut off Hez command and control and Hez infrasturcture. They will now go in and wipe them out (or at least as much as they can). This is really a text book modern battle unfolding here.
TY :-)

I sure hope this is not like the Israeli warship episode where the ship did not have its defenses turned on because "they" didn't think the Hezzies could reach them.
Agreed most of the people in Iran are against their government. The kids especially have tried many times to fight against them, many in prison and many more killed.

As I've been saying, the real war starts when this one ends.
Your observations on the ME Muslems is one I have had right along.
Be it now or years ago, most just sit around talking, drinking tea, smoking, or a board game.
They don't build up towns, expand commerce, etc.
just hang around, doing their Koran crap.
They really don't seem to work like normal people.
Then look at Israel and what they have created with their major cities, industry, farms, education, etc.
What is eerie, the above could also be said of the U.S. and the country 15 miles south of me.
Made up a lullabye with fais dodo when my nieces were babies, and I was in college where French was my language, and one of my nieces has passed it on to her daughter...it might be interesting to hear the explanation in the future of why there's a lullabye in the family that's French....when the real explanation would be that I was reading some traditional New Orleans creole lullabyes and that led me to make that one up for my little nieces (who were living with us, and who are almost as close to me as if they were my daughters...)
Muslims in the other nations see this as a rallying cry, and even if leaders in states like Egypt or Jordan don't want to get involved, they'll have to in order to protect their own internal power.
Also, as terrorist Hassan Nasrallah admitted over televison:
"I said that we would abduct Israeli soldiers,
in meetings with some of the main political leaders in the country (Lebanon).
I don't want to mention names now, but when the time comes to settle accounts, I will."
civil war again?
Interesting isn't it. But I keep expecting someone to arrest me for bigotry.
Now I am talking of the "arab street", the ordinary guys. You look at our "ordinary guys" and they are working, going to ball games, playing poker, raising kids, carrousing around, in school, holding two jobs, building lives and houses.
They don't sit around interrupting themselves only to go scream hateful things. And beat women.

I assume the "Mahdi" is expected to heal all divisions within Islam - is there any literature on this?
