The BBC is also questioning the apparent silence from both Castro brothers.

This just in: Generalissimo Francisco Franco's doctors refuse to comment on rumors that the Spanish dictator has been dead since 1975.

From the BBC: President Bush and [Representative Government] in Cuba . Seems the government could figure Mister Castro to be dead/incapacitated, too.

I think he is dead.

All indications were that if he died, they would hide it from the public for the first 48 to 72 hours or so. No video or photos, just phony statements issued in his name, until they realize they have their ducks in a line for the succession. When the tanks start moving, they are solidifying their position to pre-empt disorder and riots.

HAVANA (Reuters) - President Bush called on Cubans on Thursday to work for democratic change but the island's ruling Communist Party stressed it would stay in control after Fidel Castro's hand-over to his brother.

I wonder if El Fidel, being the maniacal guy he is, ordered his corpse to be embalmed ala Lenin and put out for display?
