Texas Executes Former Jailer (Raped & Murdered a 3 Year Old Boy)

(August 3, 2006)—William Wyatt, Jr. 41, was executed Thursday evening in Huntsville for the death of his girlfriend's three-year-old son, Damien Willis who was sexually assaulted and then smothered at his mother’s home in Texarkana in 1997.
Wyatt admitted leaving the toddler alone in a bathtub, but said he was no capital murderer.
Jurors in Bowie County found otherwise, relying on evidence and statements Wyatt made to authorities acknowledging the slaying.
Attorneys for the former Bowie County jailer asked appeals courts to block the execution, arguing that Wyatt didn't testify at the punishment phase of his trial because he wrongly believed he couldn't after deciding not to testify at the guilt-innocence portion of the case.
His lawyers also contend a federal judge wrongly ruled his testimony wouldn't have swayed the jury in their punishment deliberations.
Wyatt was the 17th inmate to be executed so far this year in Texas.

It's nice to see some of the really heinous POS's getting fried. It's never quite as satisfying when it's someone who shot a guy or something like that, as much as they deserve it. I prefer the really deeply evil ones like this creep get it.

It would have served the public better if they would have just let him out in general population. Being a child murderer, pedaphile, and former jail guard he would have lasted no more than an hour, and his death would have been just as painful as his victim's if not more so. That would have been justice.

OH yes, I totally agree. But it's all good.
I just ache to think of that poor 3 year old suffering at the hands of this animal. But it's satisfying to know he's in God's care now. God love him, the poor thing. Meanwhile, his murderer is going to burn in Hell forever.

Far too quick?!? The guy lived for nine more years, three times as long as his victim was old. Quick, no I don't think so, The guy would have been gang raped, then they would have cut open his anus. He would have bled out in an hour or so, but in tremendous pain and suffering. It wouldn't have been as quick as his death on the lethal injection table.
