As potential girlfriends go, Belinda Stronach would rank as a true catch. She is single, youngish (she just turned 40), attractive, wealthy, impeccably well-connected and politically ambitious - glamorous in every respect. Two years ago, Time magazine listed her as one of the 100 most powerful people on the planet. The tabloids cut to the chase: they called her the "blonde bombshell" or "Bubba's blonde."

Bubba, of course, is Bill Clinton. He has been photographed with Stronach (right) several times. The sightings seem to be getting more frequent, leading to

CAROLE MACNEIL(CBC NEWS): Did you see the Globe? Not the Globe and Mail but the Globe Magazine in the grocery stores this week? It has a picture of you and Bill Clinton.

BELINDA STRONACH: I think that was last week

CAROLE MACNEIL: Or last week, yeah. What's your reaction?

BELINDA STRONACH: Look there's, there's media out there, it's ... it's a tabloid. So Canadians can judge if it's entertainment, or if it's newsworthy or if it's factual and then, I'm saying it's a tabloid.

CAROLE MACNEIL: You're saying it's not factual? I ... the only reason I say that, and I know it sounds weird that I say that, but, because somebody said "is she having a relationship with Bill Clinton?" I mean, it's a question that's out there and everybody knows it's out there. What is your relationship with Bill Clinton?

BELINDA STRONACH: Bill Clinton is somebody I know, is someone I've had the opportunity to meet through a number of circumstances, is someone that I would welcome the advice on if I had the opportunity to take it, but that's it. That's it.

CAROLE MACNEIL: Does he give you any advice, or has he given you any advice?

BELINDA STRONACH: That's it. Like, given the opportunity to, I've met many world leaders, Bill Clinton, and many others, and uh, I consider it a great honour to be able to meet people that have achieved great things, and given the opportunity to discuss complex issues, I would take that opportunity. But no, we don't consult each other on a regular basis. (smiles)

I would, if I didnt know better. The lack of curvature of hip and thigh plus some suspicious "bazooms" in that picture would suggest to me that thats one those transsexuals that offers to show up for a private dance in the back of local entertainment rags. She seems to be very much like him. She ran as a conservative, lost, so she changed to a liberal. Anything to get elected. Ann Coulter asked if Hillary was going to come out of the closet. This might be a good time! Of course she has instead hired stylists, makeup artists etc to make her look like a female for election time again instead! :-)

She looks nothing like a young hillary. Hillary looked entirely different when she was young. She was an earnest looking feminatzi type with brown hair and glasses.

This girl looks like all the OTHER Bubba babes, too many to name. With a couple of exceptions they were mostly this type.

Actually, Belinda Stronach was elected as a conservative -- or what passes for a conservative in Canada. She then became a liberal when she was offered a cabinet postition in a maneuver to prevent the liberal government from losing power. It worked until the next election. She got re-elected as a liberal, but she & her new buddies are out of power.

As much as I dislike the Clintons, this
much has to be said of Hillary. When she
married the Billious One, SHE was the one
with money and connections. Her folks
lived in Park Ridge, Illinois and could well
afford Wellesley College tuition for their
homely but mentally gifted daughter. Bill
married into that family for political
reasons and to escape his humble origins in
the gin mill turf of Arkansas. Not to knock
his mother since she did the best she could
for those two boys within her limited means;
but everyone knows she used her talent for
rewarding gentlemen and small time politicians
to pave the way for Bill to get into a good
school AWAY from Hope. He had patronage all
the way.
