Baasyir is a very charismatic individual, and there will be considerable media coverage upon his release. His appearances tend to bring out large numbers of militant youth. His release will certainly inspire the disparate affiliated organizations and cells of JI. Since Abu Rusdans arrest in 2003, JI has been without an amir, or spiritual leader, so his release is all the more significant. Habib Rizieq, the head of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI), a hard-line vigilante group that has been involved in violent attacks on night-spots but also on Muslim moderates and sects such as the Ahmadiyah, agreed: "He will help boost the spirit of the faithful." Rizieq will be among many Islamists who will greet Ba'asyir on his release. Baasyir will return to his madrassah, the Al Mukmin School, in Solo, Central Java. Though the schools alumni are a whos who of jihadists and terrorist in Southeast Asia, the Indonesian government refuses to shut it down.

He said the FPI held military training courses "at secret locations" every two weeks. The FPI is thought to be involved in gangster activity and extortion and protection rackets in the Indonesian capital. It attracts most of its support through advocating jihad (HOLY war?) to the nation's Muslim majority. Holy to them is just another racket. They have no clue - what a collection of dupes.

"We have a lot of support, including in Australia, from people who don't believe Israel's attack (on Hezbollah) is just," Mr Bidu said. " Who attacked who?
See how this is already changing and Hezbollah is the victim. Kill all these SOB's!

Shhhhhhhh.....
Don't complain....
The shit magnet is still working...
Afghanistan, Iraq and now Lebanon is attracting Islamist lunatics from all over the globe to play at Jihad..
These freaking imbeciles will be slaughtered as surely as moths diving into a flame...
No one told the assholes, there are REAL warriors awaiting their arrival - and will kill their Islamist ass.
It's NOT Bush's fault that Islamists are murderous thugs....antisocial and haven't learned how to share and play with Jews....
Everything we learned in Kindergarten -- was never offered to Islamists --- they learned how to hate, and blame Jews for their sorry condition.

Well, for those who see the conflict of these last few weeks as a "Middle East" regional conflict, or an Arab vs. Jew ethnic conflict, we now have non-middle easterners and non-arabs taking a religous warrior track from Asia and probably Indonesia.
Could it be that militant Islam is making a religous war with any who oppose it?
I guess we will hear of this clarification tonight from Katie Couric...I'll have to remember to tune in.

Mr Bidu said a "passing-out" ceremony for more than 3000 jihadis would be held tomorrow in the Indonesian city of Pontianak on the large northern island of Kalimantan.
Sounds like a target-rich environment.
