A.J. Strata informs us that Sidney Blumenthal has leaked the fact that NSA is assisting Israel in tracking weapons shipments from Iran and Syria to Hezbollah, gaining him anti-Israel supporters and (one hopes) a chance to talk to the grand jury investigating NSA leaks:

Why would Sydney Blumenthal risk everything to publicize the fact he has been leaked – and is publicizing – classified information? The leftwing, anti-Israel sites are lapping this up. But my guess is Sidney just won himself an invite to a Grand Jury looking into leaks at the NSA:

More and more of this stuff comes up that makes me want to say to any liberal, "If this isn't helping our enemies, what is?" But in the last month, none of my regular liberal work associates even brings up the news around me anymore.

This is a "Leak?" We're sharing data with an ally about a country who wants to destroy us, Iran, and a country fueling murder of Americans in Iraq, Syria. That's no surprise.

It's the same answer -- cui bono? I am becoming more and more convinced that there really are some double agents within our government posing as friends of these liberals and leaking all sorts of stuff to them. Whether they are agents of Iran or of France is the only question. The outcome of their espionage is the same -- Israel gets hung out to dry, and U.S. citizens' confidence in President Bush's policies is undermined. The hate-Bush crowd are so easily manipulated by them, it is disgusting.

More to the point, who knows who knew what about this and was being mum about it--certain Middle Eastern governments, for example, who appear to be sympathetic to the palis but in reality fear Syria's growing thumbprint on this war.

I have no inside info of course, but there are many reasons why this king of thing is kept secret, and no good reason to let this info out unless one wants to do harm to Israel or, of course, Bush.

Liberals don't seem to realize that it's this kind of behavior that pushes the moderate voters away from them.

I have a phrase to describe why you shouldn't believe what witnesses say grand juries were about..It's "Sid Blumenthaling". If you recall after he testified before Starr's he came out and made up an utterly false story about what he was asked, knowing full well Starr could not respond. In it's report the gj noted this and condemned his conduct.
